My husband and I have just spent 5 nights at the Merton Hotel in St Saviour in Jersey, Channel Islands.
We stayed from Sundary 2 September 2007 to Friday 7 September 2007 and we had a great stay.
The Merton Hotel is owned by Seymour Hotels and is a 3 star hotel. Jersey have their own system of rating hotels which is different to the UK, but the ratings are of a very high standard.
We stayed in a double ensuite room and we had free half board for the price of bed and breakfast.
We booked through Condor Ferries and took our own car and paid a total of £769 for the trip (£79 of which was for the car ferry travel).

Our room was plainly and pleasantly decorated, with chrome light fittings everywhere. The furniture was ample, being a built in wardrobe, dressing table and chest of drawers ...

King of Queens is an American sitcom set in New York. The King in question is Doug Heffernan and the Queens they relate to is actually the suburb of New York he lives in with his wife Carrie. I think this title is a really clever play on words and sets the scene for quite a funny sitcom in my opinion.
Doug and Carrie are the main couple in this sitcom and it?s really them that the whole show revolves around. They have a nice relationship but bicker like most couples and they really play on each others stereotypes to get the laughs out of the audience. For example Doug is rather fat and so they definitely play this up on the show. He is generally always eating my Carrie facilitates this by buying him or making him his favourite foods. Doug is played by the very funny Kevin James who has been in movies such as Hitch, I Now Pronounce You ...
Advantages: Nice atmosphere, tasty food Disadvantages: Not that many vegetarian choices
I had heard many people rave about Buffet King but had never managed to visit it myself. When I had a friend staying I decided that a buffet would be a great place for a meal as you can guarantee that there will be something that we both liked there and it would be informal and reasonably priced. Situated in Carnegie Drive, the restaurant is just a minutes walk from the bus station and there is also ample parking in the council owned car parks across the road.
It?s easy to see the appeal of a buffet, you get to fill your plate with as many tasty morsels as your stomach can hold but I have found that the quality varies greatly, lets see how Buffet King measures up.
The restaurant was fairly quiet on the Sunday evening we visited which surprised me given how many people have told me about how great it is. We were seated straight away ...
