...Its upbeat and summery, but not a track that i'd play if it wasnt for the fact that it was from Scarface.

The one dis advantage this soundtrack has is that the tracks are not in the same order as the film, which to me makes no sense.
However its still a good soundtrack if you love SCARFACE like I do,and also if you like a good bit of 80's cheese! ... more
Owing to the fact that as soon as I watched the film 'SCARFACE',I was hooked,it was only natural for me to want to buy the soundtrack. It wasnt particularly that I loved the music, but more the fact that all the tracks were so relavent to the film and really brought me back to the scenes. When I bought the c.d,for 8.00p in HMV,I was a little unsure of exactly what all of the tracks were, but when i played it,they soon became clear.
Track one is :Push it to the limit by Paul Engemann. If you know the film well, then you'll know that this is the upbeat, poppy 80's track thats played when Tony Montana is getting mega rich and counting all his money. This track has really grown on me,not only is it a great track that makes you want to sing, but is a track that really brings you back to the height of Tonys career. 10/10
Track 2: Rush Rush by Debbie harry. This track is played sometime in the club 'Babylon' that Frank frequents. Its a good track, thats happy, but at the same time kind of slow in its tempo. It will make you think of Elvira and Tony in the club 8/10
Track 3: Turn out the light by Amy Holland. This track is also played in the club 'Babylon',and is only played in the background, but is still a track you instantly associate with the film. 9/10
Track 4: Vamos a balair by maria conchita. This is in spanish,if im correct, and is played as the camera films over the camp in which Tony and Manny are placed, before getting a green card for killing the political guy.Its upbeat and summery, but not a track that i'd play if it wasnt for the fact that it was from Scarface. 8/10
Track 5:Tonys theme by Giorgio Moroder. This is the track played right at the end when Tonys empire is finally overturned and when Tony sadly dies and his body drops into the swimming pool/fountain. Theres no singing in this track, and its a really sombre piece of music that takes you right back to the ending scene. 7/10
Track 6: Shes on fire by Amy Holland. This is the track played where Tony dances with Elvira and she makes a comment thatTony has come from a banana boat. This is the funny scene where Tony tries to dance and looks really funny. 9/10
Track 7:Shake it up by Elizabeth Daly. If im right, this is playing in the background when Tony takes his sister Gina into the toilet and hits her because shes been flirting with a man. This is another 80's track thats perfectly suited to the film and really takes you back,as well as giving you a good song to sing along to! 8/10
Track 8: Dance Dance Dance by Beth Anderson. This song plays as the man comes out dressed in a costume,at the 'Babylon' and subsequently gets shot half way through his performance as all hell has broken loose in a gang shootout ,which was supposed to be an attempt on Tonys life. 9/10
Track 9:im hot tonight by Elizabeth Daly. If im right, this plays quietly on the radio as Manny and a friend wait in the car, eyeing woman up,while unbeknown to them,Tony and Angel are tied up inside the columbians room, with a chainsaw hovering near their necks! 9/10
Track 10: Gina and Elviras theme by Giorgio Moroder. This is played near the end, when Tony kills manny in a jealous rage, when he finds out that Gina has married Manny. You can tell this composer also wrote,Tonys theme as they are very sombre tracks. I still dont know why this track is not called Gina and Mannys theme, seen as Manny is dead, but at the same time it could be named as it is because of the sympathy you feel for both women.
This c.d was released in 1990,a whole 8 years after the film was made. The c.d cover is just the same as the d.v.d cover and the back contains a picture of Tony in his famous 'Little Friend' pose. The one dis advantage this soundtrack has is that the tracks are not in the same order as the film, which to me makes no sense. However its still a good soundtrack if you love SCARFACE like I do,and also if you like a good bit of 80's cheese!
