Advantages: Well shot, developed and novel film Disadvantages: For some the pace may be slow, subtitles
Historias Minimas (minimal stories) is a beautiful film from 2003 set in Argentinean Patagonia that has been somewhat overlooked in the face of popular Spanish language films released in the past decade.
The story follows 3 people on their separate but interweaving trips to San Julian the regional capital from their rural villages, but if that premise sounds a little overused then it isn't fair to describe the film as such. Essentially this is a film about nothing and also about everything. Three people travel to San Julian for very different but basically mundane reasons; however, the concentration on the everyday ups and downs and conversations between the most ordinary of people is far more effective at illuminating humanity than most dramatic films where large and life-changing events take place. Agatha Christie is at her best while describing the English way of life....This is yet another early and interesting Hercule poirot mystery written by Agatha Christie.The story is set in a typical English village with all the humor and descriptions of everyday English village life..

It begins with a lot of promise with these opening paragraphs..
" In every club, there is a club bore, the Coronation club was no exception....Major Porter, Late Indian army rustled his newspaper
and cleared his throat, and everyone avoided his eye, but no use..."

Imagine how pleased I was when I came across this category whereby one can write about authors and to find my favourite detective novel author, Dame Agatha Christie - undisputed "Queen of Crime", in here pleased me even more!

Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born in Torquary in Devon on 15th September 1890 to Frederick Alvah Millier (an American stockbroker) and Clarissa Margaret Boehmer (the daughter of a British army captain). She had a sister eleven years her senior and a brother ten years her senior. Her father died when she was 11 and she was home-schooled by her mother until the age of 16 when she was sent to Mrs Dryden's finishing school in Paris.
