...the status of the device - lighting green when the volume is adjusted or a track skipped and flashing green for 10 seconds when the iPod is paused. The iPod itself sits in a docking port on the top of the device - adapters are provided so that you can use any iPod model with the HiFi. It sits, in the centre, at a slightly reclined angle and this it my only real concern about the whole thing. There's not much holding the iPod in place other than the docking connector, so while the whole thing is of a size that you COULD walk down the high street with it on your shoulder, the iPod is held precariously enough that I would strongly advise against it. That said, in the last 2 months I've not had any problems fitting, removing the iPod. This is partly what appealed to me.....getting a non biased opinion on the equipment I was looking at, rather than the rubbish that some shop staff will tell you in order to depart with your money in their store. Also taking up quite a few pages were the various shop adverts....love em or hate em, it helped me to realise what was available on the market and at what price. CONCLUSION £4.10 isn't cheap for a magazine, where one third of it is adverts and listings for previous reviews. However, when just two hours reading can help to pick the TV and Home Cinema System you want and at the same time save you £250.......I think it it is/was well worth the read. Whether I will buy it again, I don't know. What I do know is that when I am looking to buy a new piece of sound or vision equipment, What Hi-Fi will be my first port of call... Read review

Advantages: Often amusing, and always educational.

...As with all broadcasting monopolies these days, there is always something that stands out in the crowd. It could be simply something unusual, or it could be much deeper, a mixture of fantasy and reality. The Sci-Fi channel holds to both areas in a big way, and is always entertaining. Unlike normal TV channels, the Sci-Fi channel is heavily made up with docudrama and classic cult movies, but along with these you can also view some of the more amazing, and often unheard of things. One of my favourite programs is fortean TV, which is based on the monthly paper "fortean times". The whole show, and of course paper, is about things like ghosts, aliens, miracles and the strange inexplicable things that scientists can't make sense of. It's really interesting to see how ghost hunters work, or as I did recently, watch top scientists... Read review
