...I have to say as second albums go this is as good as Whats the story from Oasis( and i love that album) it may well be a shy away from the roses of old but it is still a storming album and i listen to it on a regular basis still.It may have taken 5 years to come to the masses but in my opinion it was worth it.
From the opening with "breaking into heaven" to the ending with "love Spreads" it just possess something that to me makes it a classic album, its easy to listen to its well recorded and it just sounds sublime, it has a nice weighty Bass to it, Johns guitaring is just amazing, Manis drumming is what makes it for me, and Ian's voice just tops it off.
There's a nice mixture of songs, Ten Storey Love Song is a nice take on a love song, then you have "begging you" which is a good punchy Guitar/drum driven song, it really does have...

...Here comes the sixth studio album by who many consider as one of, it not the, biggest rock band on the planet at the moment - The Foo Fighters. But how does "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" fair with it's predecessors?
Released in September 2007 after a couple years away just playing every venue in the world it seemed, the album was greeted with great anticaption. Opening track "The Pretender" was the first single taken from the album, and despite it getting almost religiously overplayed on stations such as Radio 1 it's still worth a listen as it is a genuinely top track. Listen to She's Lost Control and Shadowplay, at the start of the second side of the LP and know what true rock brilliance sounds like, unyielding and hard, offering no solutions or sympathy, cold and calculating, yet somehow exceptionally uplifting and hopeful.
