Additional notes

Album Notes Its somewhat misleading title aside, the sublime Secret Love: A View on Folk Compiled by Jazzanova & Resoul focuses not on the coffeehouse troubadours you might expect but rather the more mellow tributaries of the contemporary neo-soul movement -- similar in sound and spirit to the folk-funk of the early 1970s, this is soul music at its most dreamy and nuanced, presented here with an emphasis on the kind of uniform mood and painstaking pacing that more haphazardly compiled sets miss altogether. As a whole, Secret Love makes for ideal Sunday morning listening -- the music is airy and spacious, but never too light for its own good. Highlights include 4hero's remake of Minnie Riperton's celestial "Les Fleurs," Marden Hill's "Bardot," Nicola Kramer's "Help Me" and Superimposers' "Would It Be Impossible." ~ Jason Ankeny

"Get off your arse and dance" appeal
very commercial (*)
Some of the very best tracks Orbital had created... Pure musical genius.
Notable tracks missing. Not the right version of the track 'Satan' (*)
Unique. Various styles. Incredible use of sound.
Track nbr. 8 (*)
Mesmerising, brilliantly constructued swathes of ambient sound
Some may find it dull (*)
I like it.
none (*)
It only cost me £3, good rolling basslines
dull, flat, not enough energy (*)
Most Songs Are Unique, Amazing Art, Incredible Quality
One or Two songs are bland, repetitive music videos. (*)
Good mix of tunes over his career, easy to pick up and listen to
A 2nd CD of rarities/b-sides would have been nice (*)
Aggression-fuelled dance/rock hybrid brilliance
'Serial Thrilla' and 'Fuel my fire' (*)
Different, clever and noisy. Well balanced album with some top toe tappers.
Definitely NOT for everyone's taste, some odd tracks that are far to repetitive and brash (*)
