Advantages: CD can be used as a wall decoration or disco ball alternative Disadvantages: horrid - a true torture tune 68 minutes i wont forget!
- i adore saxaphone with a slow and soulful expression which unfortunately this album lacks completely.
This is a type of modern music jazz which trys an alternative approach to funk jazz - it's a type i havent come across before and honestly can say did not enjoy one little bit. True to say it's being a bit ambitiousand attemps to delivery jazz on the front line.
Unfortunaltely it didnt do anything for me and I won't be making the mistake of buying anything from PatMetheny in the future.
There is a variety of instruments used throughout the 68 min duration - of which make a horrid racket in an attempt to experimentally modernise jaz. This is something that shouldn't really be attempted. Jazz is as it is, a soulful and expressional artform that does not require tinkering or 'hipping' up to ''get down with the kids''.

Postman Pat - Special Delivery Service (SDS)...
Postman Pat seems to have got far better working conditions than ever before and this is clearly shown in his brand new children's television programme aired on BBC2 weekday mornings at 8.30am. Jack and I think that the whole show is truly brilliant and we have even set our set top box to record every episode as we are both well and truly hooked. (Especially as "Pat" is one of a limited number of words that Jack has in his vocabulary!).
Now the Postman Pat of old used to drive a small red van delivering letters of maybe even small packages. This new series shows Pat delivery some of the most strangest things from bouncy castles to cattle! It appears that Postman Pat has got a promotion and is now Head of the Special Delivery Service meaning that he is the proud user ...
Advantages: The different challenges you keep facing Disadvantages: Sometimes no break between one challenge to another
Postman Pat is a children?s television programme which has gone on for many years now. Recently it has been upgraded quite a bit and has more graphics added to it.
They brought out a game which tries to copy the television show on the Nintendo Ds Console which I am admitting to playing purely because it was there and I wanted something fun to play.
The Game
The game is all about Postman Pat as you might have guessed. You begin doing some challenges in this story mode feature.
You get to see Postman Pat and his mail and the first few challenges are to do with catching mail which is flying around and trying to put it back into the sack for which they flew away from.
Another challenge shortly after is when you need to place parcels into his van before the clock runs out.
Each level you do has a set target score you need ...

Album Notes
Personnel: Pat Metheny (electric & acoustic guitars, guitar synthesizer, bass); Pedro Aznar (vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion); Nana Vasconcelos (vocals, percussion); Michael Brecker (tenor saxophone); Lyle Mays (autoharp, piano, synthesizer, synclavier); Charlie Haden, Jaco Pastorius, Mark Egan, Steve Rodby (bass); Bob Moses, Dan Gottlieb, Jack DeJohnette, Paul Wertico, Billy Higgins (drums). Recorded in Norway, Germany and the United States between 1975 and 1984. Includes liner notes by Pat Metheny. e Since the mid-1970s, guitarist Pat Metheny established himself, in jazz and beyond, with a unique style--one combining direct, genial lyricism and radiant spaciousness, along with a willingness to employ electronic effects common to many rock guitarists but avoided by most jazz players. This approach has made him popular with audiences not usually attuned to contemporary jazz. Further, Metheny has refused to stand still, performing in varied styles and contexts, and collaborating with musicians as diverse as Jim Hall and David Bowie. This volume of SELECTED RECORDINGS is another edition in ECM's career retrospectives sequenced by the artist, here encompassing 1975-1984. RARUM IX begins and ends with sublime trio performances--the former is the energizing and nimble "Bright Size Life" with the legendary electric bassist Jaco Pastorious and drummer Bob Moses, and the latter is the classic ballad "Lonely Woman" with the equally legendary acoustic bassist Charlie Haden and drummer Billy Higgins. In between can be found a charming solo idyll and two steady bands, the constant being longtime keyboardist Lyle Mays, whose vivid-yet-restrained style makes him a perfect foil for Metheny. Throughout, the guitarist dazzles with his balance of conviviality and uncompromising artistry.
