Advantages: Sit back take a nostalgic journey back to the 80's -remeber your old bmx (if you had one) Disadvantages: very dated ,and some people may not be able to take it as it is ....
Baby faced Nicole Kidman was just 17 years old when she played the role of JUDY in BMXBandits.
BMXBandits was released in 1983 and seeing as I was a child of the 80's Bmx's were a part of my very own childhood as was probably true for most kids growing up in the 80's.
So the main reason for me buying this movie ,now, 26 years on from its release, was to take myself back to my childhood and then see if it was as good as I could remember!
There was something new for me personally first off, because, I actually got to see the opening credits for the first time ever! when I watched the DVD . I mention this because, way back when, in the 80's or early 90's my brother videoed BMXBANDITS off the telly, and he managed to miss the opening credits !
So the opening credits show bmx ers PJ and Goose riding around in all the BMX ...
Advantages: Great chases, good plot, Nicole Kidman's debut! Disadvantages: Typical 80's, Nicole's perm...
Where do I start! A legendary film!
I used to watch the video of this that I had when I was really young at my Nan's and I found it again on Price I paid - £9.99
It's a 1982/3 film about 3 BMX crazed teenagers who find a set of walkie-talkies that unknown to them reveal a plot by the 'Goons' (bad guys) to rob a bank.
87 minutes duration.
Setting: Manly, Australia.
The BMX Kids named PJ, Goose and Judy (Nicole Kidman) take the walkie-talkies that they discover and after 'investigation' they find themselves in trouble with the bad guys and are chased on a high speed BMX vs. Car chase throughout the film.
The kids report to the police the findings they have made and secretly plot an ambush to get the Goons caught. To do this they round up all the BMX riders in the area and arm them with flour for ammunition.
Once caught ...
Advantages: a kids film that any adult can watch Disadvantages: a modern remake wouldn't go amiss
this was my favourite film as a kid as i loved cruising on my bmx so it gave me something to think about. starring a young nicole kidman this story is all about 3 friends who have a run in with some thugs and it generally follows the stereotypical kids storyline from there. this isn't a bad thing as the director manages to keep it exciting the whole way through.
the 3 bmxbandits are red, blue and yellow and play the role of the good guys in the film. the whole film has a power rangers feel about it expect the guns swords and robots are replaced with some extreme bmx riding
i would recommend this film to any parent as it will keep your children entertained and you may find yourself leaving the housework to later. ...

Album Notes
Released in 2005, this 24-track collection presents the mid-1990s Creation Records output of the influential Scottish twee-pop band BMX Bandits. Masterminded by singer/guitarist Duglas T. Stewart, the group excels at highly melodic and easy-going tunes that presaged the aesthetic of fellow Scot acts such as Belle & Sebastian and Arab Strap. The band is also adept at cover tunes, as revealed on charming versions of Beat Happening's "Cast a Shadow" and Burt Bacharach's "It Doesn't Matter Anymore." Like related ensembles such as the Vaselines and the Pastels, BMX Bandits are destined to be revered by only a few, but those who tap into their wavelength will be bountifully rewarded with SERIOUS DRUGS.
