...BRIEF (ISH) INTRO TO WOODY Now most people have heard of Woody Allen and some people may have heard of Woody Woodpecker - but who the heck is, or was, Woody Guthrie? Born in 1912 in Oklahoma, Woodrow Guthrie was, probably, the most respected of the American protest folk singers of the 1930s, 40s and 50s. In fact you could say he was the protest singers’ protest singer! Remember Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Donovan, Pete Seeger and the rest? Well, Woody Guthrie was the inspiration behind all of them. More recently, Bruce Springsteen has also seen fit to worship at the shrine of Guthrie. Bob Dylan, in particular, hailed Guthrie as a hero and went to great pains to visit ‘The Legend’ as he lay dying in hospital. ...Eminem, is one man who I actually admire. Not for his Bad Ass Gimmick, not for his cheap pops at rival sides, not for his wording against his wife, and certainly not for the amount of lawsuits he gets against him, but for quite simply, the mans talent in writing and performing. Eminm has set the standard each so called "rapper" should follow. You look to this guys album, Marshall Mathers lp, and you can see exactly why. He has produced his second album of 14 tracks, well, including the couple of humorous skits in between songs. He took rapping to a new level with Stan, and showed to me for one, that in songs such as The Way I Am and Amnityville, that he can perform to a serious level. ...This is a really great collectors piece consisting of 5 cds , a video tape , booklet & a mini comic book in a keepsake box . The cds in this box set are as follows INITIUM UNHOLY PASSION NOVEMBER COMING FIRE FINAL DESCENT LIVE 85 86 ONE mini comic book depicting what can only be described as a fantasy of a Glenn Danzig dream . the comic book is interesting and is in black & white . The book that comes with this box set contains photos as well as the lyrics to Initium and November Coming Fire . Still , you do not get the lyrics to Unholy Passion for some strange reason . The video is really great to watch as the band does 2 shows live . The footage was unreleased until this box set became available . I myself own this box set & i can tell you that i really enjoy it & it remains in my private... Read review
