Advantages: A number of highly infectious, incredibly catchy songs Disadvantages: The tracks don't sound as good on CD as they did live
...Adequate Seven were a UK band that use to often get misplaced in the genre bracket of 'Skacore', however their sound was always far more than this in truth; bridging the divide between Funk and Hardcore, fusing the two in order to produce their own unique brand of music. I feel that the band were always at their best when they opted to show off their more Hardcore side, however the band do this less so on their second album 'Here On Earth' in favour of exploring their funkier nature. Unfortunately in the December of 2006, having been around for 6 years and after playing over 500 gigs the band decided to call it a day. This was a great loss for UK music as Adequate Seven were an exceptional live band; however their music still lives on today through the records that they released.

Advantages: Compelling listening Disadvantages: You can't get the songs out of your head!!
...Immediately after you've seen this musical perfromed at the theatre, this soundtrack becomes a must have! The soundtrack to this musical is flawlessly written and truly captures the emotions displayed on the stage.
This probably wouldn't be a good buy if you have never seen the musical and its impact on you, as the listener, would be greatly reduced as you can't associate it with the stage performance.
The songs on the soundtrack are very varied in style and approach, reflecting the various ages of Mickey and Eddie throughout the musical. From there childhood as naughty, cheeky seven year olds through Kid's Game through their adolescence to their difficult and different adulthoods. The second track, Marilyn Monroe acts as a fantastic insight and introduction to the life into which Mickey is born. The final track, Tell Me It...

...James are one of my all time favourite groups and have spent many a happy hour singing along to them, In the car, shower and around the house.
***A little bit about the band***
James formed back in the 80's, admist the Indie scene. and soon had people captured by thier unique style of vocals and almost punk-like energy. After a rocky start the band managed to to pull themselves back to produce the album Seven in the 90's.
The band consists of Tim Booth (Vocals), Andy Diagram (Trumpet & Backing vocals), David Baynton Power (Drums & Percussion), James Glennie (Bass guitar), Saul Davies (Guitars, Violin, Backing vocals and Percussion), Mark Hunter (Keyboards), Larry Gott (Guitars).
