Advantages: Still the simple plan we know and love Disadvantages: very radio friendly (but is that a bad thing?)
..., this is the song which you will relate to. Amazingly brilliant, anyone who dislikes this song will get a big fat kick in the rear from me, everyone should relate to this song, this is a MUST LISTEN TO song. 5 outta 5 and much love and muffins to Pierre's brother Jay!

GENERATION
Is that trumpets I hear? Oh hip hop sound *does some booty shaking*. Ah, a TEEN ANTHEM! Nice, Simple Plan has Teen Anthems on their two previous CD's and I'm over the moon to hear this on here, again catchy, but that's just Simple Plan's style, again I'm bouncing in my seat! The hip hop style really works well on this song, if you haven't heard Shut Up from their previous album, you should listen to that if you like this. 5 outta 5.

TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
Now, don't let the title fool you into thinking this is another ballad. Because...

Advantages: a great album from one of the leaders of the 'modern' punk-rock genre Disadvantages: -
...every time. Where the hits from ‘No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls’ were simply decent, this is the big time, the song that will get them success and top many a chart, as long as the label see sense and release it.
‘Shut Up’ is a rant at someone to quite frankly shut it. “Shut Up Shut Up don’t wanna hear you” portrays someone not willing to listen whether to their benefit or not. I say to their benefit or not, simply because it could be from the point of view of a slacker who needs to sort their life out but won’t listen, hence ‘Shut Up’. Welcome To My Life, the lead single, doesn’t match Perfect World in the sing along stakes, but it’s still right up their. Of course, with Simple Plan sticking to the norm this becomes another tale of a broken home and lost childhood, of how life’s been hard and times were tough, heard and seen it all...

...to not be moved by lines as beautiful as “I have witnessed starbursts in your coal black eyes” and “I don’t have a plan where I’m going I just follow my fingers…”
After the draining intensity of the afore-discussed title-track, the relatively light, yet poignant, “The Shining” comes as a much-needed breather emotionally. Lyrically the song furthers Booth’s favourite themes of displacement and social conscience;
“Here come the choices
It’s consume or be consumed
Jump if you feel crazy
And jump if you’re a fool…”
Tracks seven and eight go together hand-in-glove fashion. “Senorita” is surprisingly addictive, despite it’s light-hearted tone and “Gaudi” is a slow-burner that bellies its inherent disco-tackiness. “Senorita” is quirky, yet verse-chorus orientated and contains some of Booth’s more tongue-in-cheek lyrics;
“Mary Jane’s on the game...
