***Lyrics*** Although this CD doesn't come with a complete set of lyrics, but it does have the lyrics for Ring The Bells, which are below:
Ring ring the bells Wake the town Everyone is sleeping Shout at the crowd Wake them up This angers deeper than sleep.
Got to keep awake to whats happening. I can't see a thing through my ambition, I no longer feel my God is watching over me Got to tell the world we've all been dreaming This is not the end, a new beginning I no longer feel my God is watching over me
Break break the code. Concentrate. Let the doors swing open See through all your walls All your floors Now you're in deeper than sleep.
Got to keep awake to whats happening. I can't see a thing through my ambition, I no longer feel my God is watching over me Got to tell the world we've all been dreaming This is not the end, a new beginning I no longer feel my God is watching over me
When you let me fall grew my own wings Now I'm as tall as the sky When you let me down Grew gill and fins Now I'm as deep as the sea When you let me die My spirits free There's nothing challenging me.
These lyrics like most that james sing, seem to me to refer to a young boy who's life was shattered by the cruel realitys that life have to throw at us.Then reassure you that you can cope with anything. It certainly hit a note with me, being made homeless by my own mother at sixteen.

***Conclusion***
James, although they may not be desirable by a lot of people have inspired me greatly. Being unique in style and hitting high notes like no other Indie group could. Singing about problems that a lot of teenagers at the time were experiencing, especially those who were using drugs to hide from the realitys of life (much like myself at the time). Many of my friends find it depressing music, but if listened to properly they are actually uplifting and high spirited. I would recommend this and other albums by James to anybody, any age from any walk of life.

Album Notes
Personnel: Tim Booth (vocals); Saul Davies (guitar, violin, percussion); Larry Gott (guitar); Andy Diagram (trumpet); Mark Hunter (keyboards); Jim Glennie (bass); Dave Baynton-Power (drums). With SEVEN, James, with the help of producers Youth and Steve "Barney" Chase, finally hit their recorded stride. Arguably one of the UK's most exciting live acts, the Manchester group produced some of the great British pop of the '90s. For a guy who started out in the band as a dancer, the shamanic Tim Booth has a great vocal range, which he uses to full effect here. Never a band to pass up a singalong chorus or the occasional "Mama wooo!" James' beguiling songs are eminently catchy. Diving in with the danceable "Born of Frustration," other standout tracks include the antiwar "Mother," the ode to a beautiful film star "Next Lover," and the spiritual "Heavens." You don't need a shrink or an exorcist--an hour with James will sooth the most troubled soul.
