Advantages: catchy , enjoyed by all ages Disadvantages: video
...Deeper shade of blue is a different style to what steps are used to , however it is a good song!
On the cd , there are no b sides just a couple of remixes of deeper shade of blue which seem to go on and on and repeat themselves.
As always the steps dance routine to deeper shade of blue is included.
The video is also on the cd , but is very difficult to find which is a shame!
Deeper shade of blue is one of them songs where you can get up and dance to!
This song is one of them songs that people of all ages enjoy listening to.
If it was just the song I was reviewing I'd give it 10/10 but because i'm also reviewing the cd features i'm going to give it an 8/10...

Advantages: A handful of memorable songs Disadvantages: It does almost exactly what it says on the tin
...Staind – 14 Shades Of Grey
Like so many bands before them, Staind released an album so close to perfection within it’s genre that they will never better or equal that album. Nirvana with Nevermind (although In Utero is an amazing album) and Oasis with What’s The Story? (Morning Glory) are two such examples and now Staind can be added to that list. Break The Cycle was a journey of emotive music which captured everything that a good album should do. The combination of lyrics, music, vocals and the story each song and the album as a whole tell made Break The Cycle one of my favourite albums ever. But what about the latest addition?
Cover/Sleeve;
On first appearances this is one of the least appealing albums to look at. A plain grey sleeve with Staind etched so lightly into the centre you would miss it if you didn’t look hard...

Advantages: continuation of a great band Disadvantages: doesnt quite capture the magic of 'Break The Cycle'
...I've heard people say that Staind havn't done themselves justice with this, the follow-up to 2001's 'Break The Cycle', a record of pure perfection and rock music at its best. Fact is, that they are probably right. '14 Shades Of Grey' is great in its own right, but when played straight after 'Break The Cycle' you just feel like something is missing.
Other Staind releases
Dysfunction (1999)
Break The Cycle (2001)
The emotive feel continues from the previous record, with two songs specifically written by Aaron Lewis. One, 'Zoe Jane', is for his recently born daughter and it really shows that he is a caring father and a great musician because its a fantastic ballad that any daughter would be proud to have sung about them.
The other, 'Layne', is about Layne Staley, the recently passed frontman of the grunge band Alice In Chains...
