Shayne Ward
Shayne Ward was planning to work in his local clothes shop as usual last Christmas. ... more
Instead he was selling CDs - millions of them. In fact the artist who secured the 2005 Christmas Number One spot within a matter of hours sold more CDs and downloads than the rest of the UK Top 40 singles chart put together. Be it the combination of talent and good looks Shayne has turned heads and stolen hearts across the country. His victory on X Factor launched his career but there is much more to Shayne than talent show potential. Growing up in Manchester life wasn't easy. Being the youngest son of a very large family - three brothers and three sisters - life in the Ward household was tough. But the challenges the family faced made him even more determined to succeed espcially for his mother who sacrificed everything to support her beloved kids. SHAYNE WARD: MY STORY will provide a revealing insight into the world of one of the UK's hottest music stars. With honesty he discusses his meteoric rise to fame and how life has changed for this shop assistant from the Arndale Centre. It is a celebration of a new singing talent - Shayne is only 21 years old - a national heartthrob and a pop superstar in the making.
Breathless - Shayne Ward
Brit-nominated Manchester lad Shayne Ward proved himself a real soul talent and a more ... more
than capable balladeer with his debut album, Shayne Ward. This second outing, Breathless is something of a surprise, in that it sees the singer take a more assertive stance, swapping the slowies for uptempo disco, dance and electronic R&B. Recorded in Sweden with legendary pop don Max Martin (Britney Spears, N'SYNC, the Backstreet Boys), the album bristles energetically in a way that Wards debut didnt. Recent single "If Thats Okay With You," showcases the upbeat vibe to some extent, but "No U Hang Up" and "Melt the Snow" come with an even more contemporary feel, while "Tell Him" and "U Got Me So" wouldnt be out of place on a Justin Timberlake album. The reggae groove of "Damaged" works well, as does the albums key ballad, "Breathless". The only downsides are the bizarrely Wham-esque "Tangled Up" and the boring and mediocre "Stand By Your Side". Largely though, this is a triumphant sophomore album from a real British soul survivor. --Danny McKenna

Shayne Ward's debut album is very dissapointing in my eyes. Like most people i first heard of Shayne through the XFactor and it was no suprise to me that he won the whole competition. While he wasn't my personal favourite I did think he was the one who should have won it. He has the sex appeal that appeals to the young records buying public. All the girls would love him.
When I won the competition I couldn't wait for the album to come out. I knew I would purchase it along with Journey South's album.
The CD itself has a picture of Shayne on the front and is self titled. There is a pink background and it is quite catchy and femine.
There are 13 songs on the track which is great value for money.
These include...
1) Thats My Goal 2) No Promise 3) Stand By Me 4) All My Life 5) You're not alone 6) I cry 7) What about me 8) Back at One 9) Someone to love 10) Something worth living fpr 11) A Better man 12) Next To me 13) Over the Rainbow
Track number one everybody must know by now as it was his frist released number which shot right in at Number 1in the charts. Track two is his current single, Promises. Its very good and one of my favourites. I also like I Cry which is a cover and then finally Over the Rainbow which is a cover. This one is a live recording and so it is that extra bit speical. The rest of the tracks are forgetable. It is not a very memorable album and I think his managers should have done something a lot better.
I think many of his fans who bought the CD out of loyalty will be dissapointed with this effort.
In the XFactor I really like the songs that he did that were a lot more jazzed up. The Sissor Sisters and the Darkness along with Justine Timberlake covers. I think if Shayne is going to be the next Robbie then they have a lot of work to do.
Why didn't I like the Album? Well I am not saying that I didn't like it. Just that I am sick of it already. Its all love songs which are fine for when you are a bit down in the dumps or having a cosy night. I usually like something a little but more upbeat that I can sing and dance with my son to. Something that gets you started. Or even something that can make the housework more enjoyable...if thats possible.
In Conclusion Shaybe Ward's first Album is a mediocre effort which has been put together quickly to make money before the momentum of being the XFactor winner dies down.
I hope the decision makers get it right second time round and don't riuin Shayne's career before its even started.
Advantages: good solid vocals Disadvantages: lack of variety
...but feel a little dissapointed, shayne has a great voice, look and style about him I wanted to like this album but I think the record company/producers have got it wrong. Shayne is young 21 so why have they got him singing endless ballads. I would of like to see him tackle something more funky, modern and up-tempo. TRACKS
No promises the second single is a good solid pop song (a little bit backstreet boys) and stand by me a slushy motown-style love ... ...could see big things from shayne ward in the future but I think this album will sell fast and then be forgotten. Lets hope he gets a second album to develop as a solo artist! TRACK LISTING:

Advantages: The amazing voice of Shayne Ward Disadvantages: Not enough songs
Many people may judge Shayne for taking the 'easy route' but he is such a talented singer and this album shows off his wonderful voice. With amazing songs from That's My Goal to his second single, No Promises, Shayne really does justice to the fantastic lyrics. After having built up such an incredible fanbase so quickly and rising to fame in such a short space of time, many people may have thought Shayne nwould have fallen under the pressure, but ... ...and this album is the result. But no doubt there will be more and that they shall be just as superb. (If you don't know what I'm getting at here's a hint: buy it!)
Other great tracks include: What About Me, All My Life, Someone To Love and Something Worth Living For ...

Advantages: Varied in songs, 44 Tracks, Easily available and good price Disadvantages: Some songs are repetitive
...'s a great song to listen to if you're getting ready to go out for the night. It is upbeat and dancy.
8. Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls: I quite like this song. The song is about a guy who is sucidal after his relationship has failed with a "beautiful girl."
9. ShayneWard - No U Hang Up: I love ShayneWard and think his music gets better & better. This song is extremely catchy and has a tendency to stick in your head!
10. Timbaland feat. D.O.E, Sebastian & Keri Hilson - \"The Way I Are\": I tend to like most of Timbaland's songs as they are pretty catchy and good when you are on a night out. The base in this song has been modified slightly from Justin Timberlake's My Love and Sexy Back. Both of Justin's songs were incredibly catchy so you can imagine this one is too! The song also featured in a McDonald's advert in 2007. I...
