OVERVIEW Well 13 songs, roughly 10 of which are ballads so if you like ballads and westlife.....this is for you. I cant help but feel a little dissapointed, shayne has a great voice, look and style about him I wanted to like this album but I think the record company/producers have got it wrong. Shayne is young 21 so why have they got him singing endless ballads. I would of like to see him tackle something more funky, modern and up-tempo.
TRACKS No promises the second single is a good solid pop song (a little bit backstreet boys) and stand by me a slushy motown-style love song will be a future single im sure apart from that I couldnt pick another hit single.
All my life is a sort of poppy funk number that never really gets off the ground but surprisingly it is only 1 of 2 cover versions on the album I was expecting more. Tracks You're not alone and I cry are so westlife/boyzone bland it's difficult to find anything to say about them. What about me is a cheesy lyric pop ballad best forgotten.
Back at one also suffers from slightly cheesy lyrics but is better than the previous 3 tracks. Then there are surprise surprise 3 more ballads the first of which someone to love is a pleasant love song the 2nd something worth living for seems to be in the style of daniel bedingfield and lastly a better man which shows off shaynes vocal abilities better than most tracks. The 2nd to last track on the album is next to me and its a mid-tempo soul pop number which is well written and well performed.
I think we could see big things from shayne ward in the future but I think this album will sell fast and then be forgotten. Lets hope he gets a second album to develop as a solo artist!
TRACK LISTING: Thats my goal (single) No Promises (single) Stand by me All my life (cover version) You're not alone I Cry What about Me Back at one Someone to love Something worth living for A better man Next to me Over the Rainbow (cover version)
INLAY The inlay has all the song lyrics which is always a bonus. And there are plenty of pictures of shayne looking stylish and slick. Theres a nice big thankyou's page where he thanks everyone from sharon osbourne to faye his girlfriend, ahhh.

You are spot on in everything you say. I bought it just to hear his voice as I think he is fantastic! But apart from No Promises, the songs are dull and bland. Why can't Simon Cowell admit that his song choices are not always correct and just because we watched him sing endless covers on The X Factor doesnt mean we want to hear an album full of them. Plus, he is 21 as you said, does Justin Timberlake wear a suit 24/7 and sing songs Robson and Jerome would be proud of? No! So let Shayne do what he wants to do? If he fails, at least he has failed on his own terms. Leona Lewis will end up going the same way.
