Advantages: Lots of holidays on offer, can get some real bargains! Disadvantages: If you don't like sitting for long periods....it isn't for you!
Let me start by saying that I LOVE coach holidays!! I first travelled with Shearings (they've now merged with Wallace Arnold) with my parents when I was 13. We went to Lido Di Jesolo in Italy. I'm now 36 and have been to Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Poland with Shearings (in 3 weeks I'm off to Belgium with them) and I've been to France and Austria with rival coach companies.
There's a huge range of destinations, but I'll put them into 2 simple categories.
1) Overnight Express: you stay on the coach overnight (and try to sleep) This means the holiday will be considerably cheaper and you arrive at your resort considerably earlier.
2) No overnight travel: You stay in hotels en route which means the holidays will be more expensive but easier for those of you who shudder at the thought of trying to sleep on a moving vehicle!

Advantages: Quaint, traditionally English Inn/Bar/Restaurant Disadvantages: It is in the middle of nowhere-however it is beautiful
The Shears Inn,
Collingbourne Ducis,
Nr Marlborough,
Wiltshire
On the way back from a long drive from the annual holiday, we had to stop over for one night due to a polo tournament I was playing in. Typical, a last minute thing and could we find a BnB? No! So we stumbled across this highly recommended village Public Inn and Hotel.
The Area
The area is primarily an army area, hosting the Tidworth Garrison, a mile or so down the road, and is on the eastern side of the famous Salisbury Plain. Any army/forces folk will know it!
The way is nicely sign posted however I would recommend doing a route finder as some of the signs were well hinden by foliage! Keep your eyes peeled!
The Inn
I had no idea what to expect, only that it was costing us £80 for a standard double room with ensuite, with a traditional English Breakfast ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of The Shears Inn
Advantages: Got to see alot of Scotland Disadvantages: Poor customer service, uncomfortable seating.
Shearings have there good and bad points.
First the bad.
Don't book with Shearings if you want to go on holiday on a specific date.
I booked a 5 day holiday to the Tarbet hotel in Scotland in February for the 21st of July for our silver wedding which was on the 23rd.
I paid in full 8 weeks before departure and then 6 weeks before departure Shearings wrote to me saying they had to cancel the holiday due to lack of numbers.
I could either have a full refund or move to the week after, we couldn't find anything else suitable and so had to go the week after.
We were very annoyed to say the least and I had to change my holiday dates at work which didn't go down well.
So just be aware, they can cancel your holiday anytime they like and just give you £10 compensation but if you cancel they can take 90% of your money.
