Wedding Present's most consistent album

Advantages: No weak tracks, best way to end an album
Disadvantages: It's over too quickly!

This 1996 effort is the last album released under the Wedding Present name before Dave Gedge put the band on hiatus for 8 years and concentrated on his Cinerama project. In my opinion it is one of the high points of this band's discography. The album starts off with 2 short, sharp, spiky but still tuneful efforts in Venus and Real Thing. A great way to start an album and really get your attention. The pace slows a little with the next song Dream World, it starts slowly for the first couple of minutes then veers between fast and slow until it ends. The female backing vocals really enhance this song. Track 4 is the lead off single 2,3,go, not an obvious single, especially with the album version's extended outro (featuring a very old radio advert for Grundig buried deep in the mix). Isobel's Wedding

Advantages: A brilliant read.
Disadvantages: Some parts far fetched.

Isobel is engaged to be married. She has a good job and close family and friends, but her wedding plans seem to take over her whole life. Her fiance feels suffocated, so when he suggests they postpone the wedding she feels a bit embarrassed to face people as the wedding has been her main topic of conversation for months. She also feels angry with her fiance, Tim, as it is less than a month until the wedding and, although he insists that he just wants to postpone the wedding rather than cancel it completely, she does not feel that she can trust him enough to go through with a wedding. At the back of her mind she knows that she'll always be wondering if he was going to back out of it again. With this, Isobel takes up an opportunity of a job abroad. Wedding Bore!

Advantages: Some funny bits
Disadvantages: Poor Story , funny bits are limited

When I first saw Wedding Daze advertising on the television , I thought it was another American Pie film , because it starred Jason Biggs. I then went around telling my friends that I was excited about seeing the new American Pie film , only to be told it wasn't. I never did go to the cinema to see it , but put the film down on my "To buy Dvds" list , but again I didn't get it. So the other week , when I'd ran out of dvds to watch I went and had a look through my sisters dvd collection , and saw sitting there on the shelf ; Wedding Daze.
