Shogun (Special Edition/+DVD) - Trivium

...seeps through with the clever use of multi channel sound emphasizing the powerful emotion of each of the band members performances. When in 2006, the band released a special edition DVD version of the album I bought a copy. The Live performances of the band playing in Astoria are fantastic and now I have a copy of the album in my car and at home! To speak briefly about some of the tracks, my personal favourite is Departure. Although it is again about death, this time suicide, the changing beat and rhythm combined with emotionally provoking lyrics makes you want to listen to it again and again. "Dying in your arms" is a song about getting away from a friendship or relationship that was restricting, choking, something that had to be rid of. "Like light to the Flies" is a song about witnessing a tragedy and how people although shocked... Read review

...Great Album Great Band, I went to a gig with trivium playing and they had a Sign saying Trivium Saved Metal and i cant argue with that. Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr is the song that got trivium reconised and now i know why that is the song that made me fall in love with them. There aint a song on this album that i dont like any metal fan will love this album. Also the Second Disc has 9 videos some like and some released videos. This is great all round album for any metal fan. The Awesome solos, Awesome Singing there is only one word for this album Awesome :) If you buy this i can promise you that is will never be out of your CD player.... Read review

Advantages: better than thier newst release

...I bought this album about 5 months ago after hearing the song " a gunshot to the head of trepidation" which is a song filled with great riffs ( easily learnt by a beginner guitarist) and great lyrics. if any of you reading this has heard te song the anthem which im sure you have because mtv2 love to play this song, this album is nothing like that song this album is more " hardcore, screamy" if thats the right way to put it. the one bad thing i have noticed abut trivium is there first 2 albums are more metal heavy metal and there new one is toned down you could say. which in my eyes is not good dont get my wrong they are still awesome but metal is what they are good at doing and toning it down just to get more popular so therefore to get more money shows me that they dont play because they enjoy it but because they want to make money...
