Advantages: tons of new features, which makes using Sibelius quicker and easier than ever! Disadvantages: price, takes a while to get used to the shortcuts if you've never used Sibelius before

1) MAGNETIC LAYOUT
The biggest and most noticeable improvement for me, is what they refer to as "Magnetic Layout". Finally!! Anyone who has used earlier versions of Sibelius will know just how frustrating it is when you input dynamics/lyrics/rehearsal letters, and everything collides and overlaps, and you have to spend ages moving things around to appear in the right place. Well, in Sibelius 6, this is no more! Things snap to the right places ...

Advantages: Ahhh, I'm a soppy old git Disadvantages: I mean, cough, I am a tough gruff man. See me roar. ROAR!
Hello, Fat Tony here, your friendly neighborhood gangster man. Yesterday, after a hard day of busting caps and boxing beats, I saw that a good friend of mine was feeling down. She's had a bad weekend. She's been incredible to me over the past few months, and wrote a very lovely poem for me which can be found at my MySpace.
After chatting to her for a while, I decided it'd be nice if I wrote a poem to show how much I love her as a friend, and how much I appreciate her. So, I came up with this. It's entitled simply, "A Poem".
Please bear in mind it's my first ever poem.... I'm more of a "There was a young blank from blank" guy, so... be nice ;-)

A POEM
I wanted to write a poem, write a poem just for you
For blue you seem to be and all you seem to be is blue
But poems aren't my strength, they aren't my strength ...

Advantages: A fantastic program for writing music; Great looking scores; Far better than the competition Disadvantages: Stupidly expensive
(volume and associated changes in it) and general performance directions? You can access these from two places ? by right clicking on a blank bit of score, or by selecting the ?create? drop-down menu.
From here you can insert all manner of musical notation. The standard dynamic markings are all available, and Sibelius cleverly plays back any dynamics you write in when you come to listen to your piece. Also available are metronome marks (a precise indication of speed); performance directions; and lots of other text such as titles, composer?s names, etc. Because all of these fonts and styles for text are built into the software, there?s no need to worry about fiddling around with text sizes and such like ? it?s all done for you in the program. I think this is one of the reasons why Sibelius is so popular ? it creates the most professional ...
