Silicon Messiah has the theme of technology taking over the world running through it.
Great title track which talks about the birth of a new Messiah made of Silicon. This song is again pretty much the same as the previous 2.
4 - Born As A Stranger (7/10)
I wasn't a big fan when I first heard it but it does grow on you. The song deals with someone being born as a stranger in a new world. Blaze gets a chance to really use his vocal range.

Blaze Bayley was lead singer of a metal band called Wolfsbane. They were an average metal band but Blaze had a passion and a deep singing style which impressed lots of people including Steve Harris, bassist in Iron Maiden.
When Bruce Dickinson decided to go solo, Blaze was offered the role of front man of possibly the greatest metal band ever. If your an Iron Maiden fan chances are you'll hate Blaze, he did murder a good few Maiden tracks live. However on his material (X-Factor and Virtual XI) he rocked. When Bruce re-joined Maiden in 1999 Blaze left and set about creating a new band, this band is BLAZE.

**************** Track by Track **************** 1 - Ghost In The Machine (8/10)
The first track proves how good Blaze actually is at writing powerful songs which hit the right spots. The guitars, drums and lyrics complement each other well and sets the standard for the rest of the album.
2 - Evolution (8/10)
Another catchy song about the evolution of machines to rule all. Pretty much same as track 1.
3 - Silicon Messiah (8/10)
Great title track which talks about the birth of a new Messiah made of Silicon. This song is again pretty much the same as the previous 2.
4 - Born As A Stranger (7/10)
I wasn't a big fan when I first heard it but it does grow on you. The song deals with someone being born as a stranger in a new world. Blaze gets a chance to really use his vocal range.
5 - The Hunger (6/10)
One of the weaker points of the album. Blaze's vocals make up but the song is too slow and has nothing that really makes it stand out.
6 - The Brave (8/10)
Great metal riff, guitars and a not to serious subject matter. One of the best on the album and great live.
7 - Identity (7/10)
Another track which doesn't live up to the others but the others are so good that this only really suffers becuase it is on an album of greats. The song is about someone who doesn't quite know who he is.
8 - Reach For The Horizon (6/10)
A weak song really. Another slowish track but Blaze's voice again makes it worth listening too.
9 - The Launch (8/10)
This song rocks again. Guitars, fast playing and great lyrics.
10 - Stare At the Sun (7/10)
Needs a few listens to get into but is great once you do. Slow to start, then fast. An epic finishing track which is fantastic live.
So if your not buying this album purely on what Blaze did with Iron Maiden then please give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
Advantages: Great Comeback, one of the best albums of 2000 Disadvantages: hard to find
...The album is called Silicon Messiah, and is brilliant. Its not quite as good as Brave New World - see iron maiden - but it is still excellent. It is a lot heavier than maiden, but still melodic, demonstrating his new band of great musicians, some of the solos are ace.
It compares to Machine Head, but with good riffs, and excellent vocals.
Highlights include Silicon Messiah, The Brave, Ghost in the machine and Stare at the sun.
