This CD is excellent. I have always been a fan of Male Voice choirs (not just because I'm welsh) because the overall harmony is gorgeous!! I saw this CD advertised recently on the TV and my parents bought it for me. I was not disappointed. There is an excellent selection on traditional welsh ballads with past pop hits etc. People often mistake Male Voice Choirs as just a 'Welsh Thing' that they won't nessarily enjoy, I think they would be pleasently suprised if they bought it.
Being the age of 20, not many of the younger generation appreciate music different to hip-pop, punk-rock or rap but as I was brought up surrounded by jazz, classical, brass etc, I have a much wider taste, thankfully. This is a CD that I play quite often and enjoy every time.

The choirs on this CD include the Treorchy MaleChoir, which sings the hymn from Finlandia, Unwraith Eto'n Nghymru Annwyl, and Lest we Forget.
Next is the Canoldir MaleChoir, who perform Shepherd, Shepherd, The Lord's Prayer and the Finnish Forest.
The Morriston Orpheus Choirsing Cadwyn O Emyn-Donau Cymreig, a medley of Welsh hymn tunes, Joanna, Crugybar, Ebenezer. Then Cymru Fach, Dies Irae.
The Pontarddulais MaleChoir performs Bryn Myrddin and then Memory from Cats, followed by Diolch I'r Ior.
The Dunvant MaleChoir perform the Soldier's Chorus from Faust, The Lily of the Valley, the Bandits' Chorus from Ernani and Deus Salutis.

The Rivelin Valley lies approximately 5 miles West of Sheffield City Centre. The Valley is three and a half miles long and follows the course of the River Rivelin, which rises in the Hallam Moors on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
The River Rivelin is a very fast flowing River that is fed by many smaller tributaries that drain their water from the moorland peat. The fast flowing nature of this River has cut a steep Gorge through the hills leaving a deep Valley with very steep sides.
