Album Notes: The CD SINGLES COLLECTION box set, an exclusive European edition, contains singles released in the U.K. from 1962 to 1970. There are 22 discs (and 44 songs) in all, each one packaged in a replica case with the same art as the original 7\" single that was re-released in the 1980s.
Advantages: All great songs Disadvantages: not all that representative
...The much publicised album of number 1 singles must have been great news for The Beatles and EMI as now they can rake it in all over again without having to do any work. But on a less cynical note this is an axcellant album in terms of the songs, with every song a classic. The only real problem of the album is that some of the tracks are that all that repsentative of the Beatles at set points in their careers but then that was not really the point of the album. No doubt it will lead to even more releases of old Beatles material to help keep Paul, Ringo, George and EMI raking in the readies but for the casual fan you can do a lot worse than getting this album....

...The Beatles '1' album is a must for any cd collection as it contains a whopping 27 tracks on this single cd. An excellent selection of their hits which will have you singing your head off!
Tracks include:- she loves you, i feel fine, help!, all you need is love, let it be, from me to you and yesterday to name but a few. This is the only Beatles album i have and to be honest will be the only one i need as it contains all the songs that i like. Although i wasn't born when the Beatles first became successful, i definitely like the music and the songs are absolute classics and shall remain timeless.
If you haven't got any Beatles cd's then this is the one to buy - you won't be disappointed....

The red album is undoubtedly poor value for money and this is rather better as its 28 tracks comprise a more generous playing time, and it does include most of the B-sides, including "Revolution", the often-overlooked "Don't Let Me Down" and George Harrison's "Old Brown Shoe" which has a quirky charm of its own. If you're a Beatles completist who must have everything, the case...
