Sean Penn IS Harvey Milk! The film of the year!

Advantages: Watch a compelling Sean Penn performance and learn some history!
Disadvantages: I am hoping the DVD extras will include some actual documentary footage of Milk?

I feel compelled to write a review of Gus Van Sant's new film, "Milk", having just seen it in the cinema. I will certainly be buying this DVD when it is released! While the Oscars are likely to be a battle between "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Slumdog Millionaire", I would rate "Milk" above both of those films! If you know nothing about the gay rights movement that occurred in California in the 1970s then indeed this movie will be something of a history lesson. But this film is so much more than just a tale of real-life openly-gay politician, Harvey Milk. Don't be put off a quality piece of film-making because you're not gay. You don't have to be Jewish to be moved by "Schindler's List" right? Gus Van Sant has been making diverse films for two decades, and for all his inventiveness one of his most accessible stories ...

Singles

Advantages: perfect little gem of a film
Disadvantages: none

?I?d try to comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart?? Singles, Cameron Crowe?s 1992 tale of the twentysomething search for love in Seattle, is one of my all-time favourite films. This sweet, episodic mix of neatly interlinking storylines is very human, very funny and has probably the best soundtrack of any film in that decade (yes, that includes Pulp Fiction). ?How did this stuff get so complicated? I don?t know.? The storyline strands are relatively few, and this is why the film continues to be coherent and believable. Poor Linda has been dumped on more times than she cares to remember, so is in no mood to meet Steve, who might just be the love of her life. Steve?s ex Janet is, meanwhile, in love with her neighbour in the block of ?singles? in which they live, but Cliff is just too wrapped up in his music to give a damn ...

Harveys You What ????????

Advantages: Nice Offers To Be Had
Disadvantages: Slow, Bad Quality and Poor Customer Service

the aftermath was disgusting, dirty smelly water all over my living room. I removed the carpet and sofa and had a good clean up, after this I contacted my insurance company who sent somebody out and 2 weeks later a cheque had arrived for me to get new carpets and sofa's. Me and my wife popped up to Harvey's in Milton Keynes and had a good look around at all the sofa's on offer. The insurance company would only pay for one sofa but had given us £550 to do so, not ideal as you can't have two odd sofa's however in Harvey's it seemed we could afford two leather sofa's with the cash. The salesman was very good taking time to show us all the ranges and explaining the benefits of each especially with the amount of kid's we have and the state that our old sofa's had got in through them.
