Advantages: Pure James Brown Disadvantages: only 1 disc
This is a CD containing 20 of JamesBrown's best hits. It has songs ranging from Get Up Offa That Thing to Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, from It's a Man's Man's Man's World to Living In America. The complete track listing is below.
Before i bought this CD i'd only heard of Papa's Got A Brand New Bag (bad for a DJ i know) by JamesBrown's but ever since i bought it i can't get enough of him. It has to be the Funk mix with the soul that does it for me. The best thing was i picked this copy up from some supermarket for a pittence of what it should have been. Only £3.50 ish i think. Is well worth the £10 a high street shop would charge. I believe it is now possible to get pretty cheap copies of the net.
If you love anything James has done you'll love this CD. Highly Recommended. The track list is as follows:

Advantages: Great pop Disadvantages: None really - it's just pop
One of the classics UK singles bands of the last few years, James have always had critical and popular appeal - probably because they wrote some damn good pop tunes, with loads of cred because they were party of the "Madchester" scene.
Now yet another band to reform for 2007, James have released this greatest hits collection to pave the way. And what a lot of great tunes they are, too.
James were formed in Manchester and signed to the legendary Factory. Then the Madchester stuff kicked off and James joined in: their ?Gold mother? album spawned four singles with ?How was it for you?, ?Come home? and ?Lose control? all cracking the top 40 but then came the classic ?Sit down? ? kept off the number one spot in the UK by Chesney Hawkes? ?The one and only? (as annoying as Joe Dolce?s ?Shaddapa your face? keeping Ultravox?s ?Vienna? from ...
Advantages: perfect little gem of a film Disadvantages: none
?I?d try to comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart??
Singles, Cameron Crowe?s 1992 tale of the twentysomething search for love in Seattle, is one of my all-time favourite films. This sweet, episodic mix of neatly interlinking storylines is very human, very funny and has probably the best soundtrack of any film in that decade (yes, that includes Pulp Fiction).
?How did this stuff get so complicated? I don?t know.?
The storyline strands are relatively few, and this is why the film continues to be coherent and believable. Poor Linda has been dumped on more times than she cares to remember, so is in no mood to meet Steve, who might just be the love of her life. Steve?s ex Janet is, meanwhile, in love with her neighbour in the block of ?singles? in which they live, but Cliff is just too wrapped up in his music to give a damn ...

Hip-O Selects' James Brown THE SINGLES series is a dream come true for record collectors and Brown fanatics. The series collects Mr. Dynamite's singles in the order in which they were issued, providing a historical chronology of the sequence of 45s. VOLUME 3: 1964-1965 finds Brown at a crossroads in his career. About to leave behind classic soul (as captured on Volumes 1 and 2), Brown experimented with blues and other styles, before discovering the funkier edge he'd pioneer on singles like "I Got You" and "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" (which appear toward the end of the second disc). Brown also had label disputes during this time, so the set includes versions of classics like "Try Me" and "Maybe the Last Time" from competing labels.
