Advantages: Great travelogue in music of the Old West Disadvantages: None
...murderous life is described with sincerity. Then we meet another westerner, a saddle tramp who rides an old horse. His life is nearly over, he misses his daughters and his wife, but he tries to keep on singing.
Track 3 - Lumberjack(3.03)
Johnny next takes us still further west to Oregon into lumberjack country and outlines a young man's first day as a high-climber(which I think is self-explanatory). Among the lessons he learns is "don't cut timber on a windy day!"
Track 4 - Dorraine of Ponchartrain(4.47)
Now the train takes us south and east to the swamps and forests of Louisiana. Johnnysings a tragic ballad of "Dorraine of Ponchartrain" the black-eyed beauty who was lost in a boat on the lake.
Track 5 - Going to Memphis(4.22)
The train now goes northward to Mississippi and its levees and the constant fight against flood waters...

Advantages: He is Johnny Cash Disadvantages: I am not Johnny Cash
...” is a tender ballad which he dedicates for the most part to his wife (the woman that tamed him) June Carter. “Rusty Cage” is a song about almost everything that Johnny liked singing songs about, and is dirty as hell, written by Tom Petty and this is probably the one song that sounds most like Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers.
“The One Rose (That is Left in My Heart)” is obviously one of Johnny’s favourite songs you can tell just by the way he writes about it in the sleeve notes, and that voice of God thing starts creeping in again. “Country Boy” is about just that being a Country Boy, the joy of standing barefoot on a steam locomotive, the joy of being poor but having a richness of the soul cause who needs money when you got that?? (6) and is proof that Johnny did not always write about depressing things. The JohnnyCash Treatment of “Memories...

Advantages: It's Johnny Cash! What more do you what? Disadvantages: How can there be any? It's Johnny Cash!
....
13.Cry! Cry! Cry!
This is about a man telling his wife/partner who goes out at night to see other men that for every lie, lie, lie she is going to cry, cry, cry, and how he wont be there for her when her sugar daddy's are finished with her, he will be saying bye, bye, bye. It has quite a 50's feel to it which is no surprise as it was written in the 50's I believe.
14. Hey Porter.
This I believe was JohnnyCash's first hit way back in 1955 and was his first release for sun Records. The porter is an on board train porter who is being asked constantly the time and related things by a man who can't wait to get back to Tennessee. It is a fast moving song with a nice feel.
15. Ballad of a teenage queen.
This is the only song on this album that is sung with others, singing with Johnny are his daughter Roseanne Cash and The Everly Brothers...
