The newly talented choir attracts great attention for the church, which is slightly concerning for the Reverend Mother as sister Mary Clarence is supposed to be in witness protection. This film had me laughing from start to finish. Whoopi Goldberg is fantastic in this part. It's well worth watching and the second sister act is just as good.... Read review

...Dolores Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) is a loud singer in a las vegas lounge bar who is in love with a criminal. After receiving a present off her boyfriend Vice and seeing it is Vinces wifes coat marches up to his office only to witness his men shooting another bloke. Dolores goes to the police and tells them everything and the officer puts Dolores into a convent in another state in america where she becomes sister mary clarence when first meeting the mother superior (Maggie Smith) the mother superior doesnt get along with dolores who has to work and pray till she has to testify in court. Dolores/Mary Clarence eventually joins the choir practice and helps them to sound like a harmony not like a droaning noise and the church starts to fill up with her music which Dolores makes the music more up beat and it annoys the mother superior... ...This is my second fave musical. The story is so gripping full of tradgedy, romance and a bit of humor. The opening to the show is always my favourite part along with kims nightmare. On the cd the track 'Kims Nightmare' is not in full it starts from half way through and is cut short at the end also which is a little but dissapointing. The way that the sound of the helicopter starts everything off at the begining of the cd the way it does in show is great. Starting off quite then gradually getting louder sounds awsome surround sound. It makes me feel like I'm there. The voices of the cast are powerful and portrays alot of what the character is feeling at that given time which made it easier for me to imagine it when I listened to it. The voice of Lea Salonga is so beautiful. It's soft and innocent with a bit of power when needed for her... Read review
