This five men set standards for hard rock and heavy metal of that time(1989); and if you ask me, they were the last band who ... ...thinking about grunge and new metal shit, 'cos they are not HARD rock).
If you are into nice boys with bad attitude and, above all, great music, than this is a must-have for you; and if you are not into this type of music than this is a must-hear for you.

Advantages: Great classic tunes Disadvantages: The extra live versions weren't needed
Who doesn't love a bit of early '90's hair metal - you just can beat it!!
If you love your guitar riffs and heartfelt power ballards, give SkidRow a listen! From the opening classic drumming of Youth Gone Wild, this album is one fantastic song after another. 18 & Life and I Remember You should be up there with the greatest metal ballards of the '90's. This takes songs from their two albums, plus a smattering of extras from over the years, together with a couple of live tracks thrown in for good measure.
I have loved this band since my early teenage years, and never get tired of listening to their tunes, but unfortunatly they never seemed to gain the following of bands in the same genre such as Gun's n Rose's.
Buy this and play it LOUD!!!! ...
Advantages: Great music Disadvantages: None for me!
SkidRow were undoubtedly one of the best bands rock bands of the 80's, though for some reason they never achieved the kind of fame afforded to bands such as Guns N' Roses or Posion.
Unfortunately, the things that SkidRow seemed to get the most publicity for, were falling out with Jon Bon Jovi, getting banned from Wembley Stadium by Brent Council, where they were asked not to play 'Get The F*** Out' and played it anyway, and the time when Sebastian Bach had a bottle thrown at him while onstage, and hurled the bottle back, hitting an innocent spectator in the face.
This album walks the fine line between hard rock and heavy metal, which is hugely satisfying for all those who yearn for something heavier than Bon Jovi, but can't quite stomach Sepultura.
Every single track on this album will blow you away either musically ...
Skid Row: Sebastian Bach (vocals); Dave "The Snake" Sabo, Scotti Hill (guitar); Rachel Bolan (bass); Rob Affuso (drums). Recorded at Royal Recorders, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Album Reviews
Q (5/95, p.132) - 3 Stars - Good - "...this debut still stands as a bracing fusion of street smart riffage, riddled with commercial hooks....Not quite a classic but certainly a notable debut." Mojo (11/00, p.116) - "...Their sound coalesced around Moore's burn-up blues guitaring....Cream, Allman Brothers and Hendrix are obvious influences....[they] had a spare intensity all their own..."
