...Born in Belfast (Northern Ireland), Van Morrison was steeped in the sounds of American folk & blues from his youth. By age 11 he had mastered guitar, sax, and harmonica and began perfoprming with skiffle bands in local dance halls. In the swinging '60's he joined the Monarchs and toured U.S air bases in West Germany. Beginning to improve himself versus different public and american buddies. Then he returned to Belfast, he formed Them, one of the best British rock bands of all time. The group scored huge hits like "Don't Start Crying Now", "Baby Please Don't Go" and "Here Comes The Night" and the wonderful international hit "Gloria" so many times covered by main artists as The Doors, Patti Smith, U2 but according to me never as well as Van himself... ...A fantastic CD with lot's of different kinds of rock. The best bands of 2006 and 2007 put in one CD. Artists like Snow Patrol, Razorlight, The Fratellies, The Arctic Monkeys, Automatic, The Ordinary Boys, The Killers, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks and the list goes on. Has two CD's and has 40 tracks, 20 on each CD. Has new up coming artist such as Wolfmother. has many artists winners from the Brits: The Killers who won best national CD and best national band, The Arctic Monkeys won best British CD and best British band. The Fratellis won an award too and many more Brit award winning artists. A fantastic purchase well worth its money. A great buy. I recommend definitely to people anywhere between 8 and 100 if they enjoy that kind of music. It even has some live performing artists such as 'The Arctic Monkeys' on tour... Read review

Advantages: great to dance to at a party

...Sometimes it's better to buy a compilation album, as I can get disappointed with one artists songs sometimes. Take for example the brilliant Bohemian like you, Dandy Warhols, this is the only decent song on there. So for a change I thought I would listen to a compilation album with hopefully the best songs choosen for one perticular artist. School Disco.com took me back some years, it's a great double album with a right mixture of songs. These can be enjoyed at any party or family get together. There will be something for everybody on there to suit all music tastes. Take for example. 1. Don't stop me now. Queen. A great sing a long, nearly everybody likes at least one Queen song. Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball. Not a heavy Queen number but easy enough to listen to so you can pick out the words... Read review
