Kate, Heather and Olivia are sisters-in-law and are all hiding something from the Fox family. The family have big expectations and the 3 women sometimes struggle to keep up with them. When the mysterious Sasha enters their lives one mealtime, all 3 women are immediately suspicious. Kate wonders why her partner Johnny has started working long hours at the office without a worry about their 2 children, can army wife Heather trust her husband Jack when he is home from duty, and is Olivia able to keep Simon's secret forever, or will it spell the end for one Fox marriage? Review of Sisters-In-Law - Nina Bell

SLAUGHTERED

Advantages: Thrilling, horrific, compelling
Disadvantages: Graphic descriptions of violent crime

I'm not at all sure why, but the last few books that I've read in the mystery/thriller genre all seem to have a general theme of sexual deviance; I'm starting to become paranoid that I've become some kind of sexual voyeur via fiction! Or is it simply because murder mixed with sex or sexual crime offers a wide appeal to the book buying public? For now, I'm going to comfort myself that the latter sentence applies. In case you hadn't guessed by now, the book I'm about to review is a crime thriller and the plot centres on sex, sexual preferences, rape and murder, all of which are graphically described! The book in question is "Blindsighted" by Karin Slaughter, an author unheard of by me until I found the book languishing on a bedside table when I visited my parents in April. Review of Blindsighted - Karin Slaughter

Pain in the bum in law!

Advantages: Great story, good choice of actors/actresses.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

I really like this film. I went to see it in the cinema and just had to buy it when it came out on DVD. The director Robert Luketic chose a great cast. We have Jennifer Lopez who plays the part of Charlie, the inicent daughter in law, Michael Vartan who plays Kevin, the son and Jane Fonda who plays Viola, the evil mother in law who is set out to get Charlie out of the picture. Also Wanda Sykes stars as Violas assistant. This film does have many similarites to Meet the Fockers. However, its the Mother In Law which everything goes wrong for rather than in Meet the Parents where its Ben Stillers character that gets it all!
