Slide It In - Whitesnake

Advantages: Good time rock'n'roll with a large drop of blues added for good measure
Disadvantages: Very samey with lyrics that are sometimes hideous

...Whitesnake, for those not in the know, are a rock band formed in the seventies from the splintered remains of Deep Purple.  Ritchie Blackmore had already departed the sinking ship and had formed 'Rainbow', Ian Gillan, who had quit many moons before the band croaked, had begun 'Gillan' (sometimes it makes you wonder where they get the names for these bands from!) and so David Coverdale, libido in hand, packed his bags and set up camp under the banner of Whitesnake.  And yes, the name does refer to his?.shall we say, manhood? The 'Purps', following their long, protracted illness eventually succumbed to the inevitable and gave up on their will to live and gave birth to the band, or frontman to be more precise, that would in turn launch the much-lauded 'cock rock'; a phrase relating to the amount of sexual innuendo and suggestive come... ...After almost 2 years of using the same old handset my network finally decided I was able to claim an upgraded handset as long as extended my contract. The choice I preferred was always going to be a Nokia as any I'd had previously had been better than other brands Id used, and one of the newer options avaliable was this the 6500 slide. As Im with Orange I had the option of the new black version or the original silver, I chose the black simply because they had it in stock at the time. On receiving the handset my intial impressions were about its weight and size. With a predominantly metal casing it feels robust and obviously metal increases the weight. Advantages: Does the basics very well. Great looks and form factor.

However, if you wanted to buy the unit separately without a contract, it would set you back £249 from Carphone Warehouse. However, the model is already a year old, and as such, you can get them new elsewhere at a significant discount, or acquire them second hand for a fraction of the cost. The top opening box includes the phone, the manual, a mains charger, a data cable to enable connection to a PC, a set of in-ear headphones (the ear canal types with rubber ear buds that sit inside your ears) with three sizes of ear buds, and a special adapter which plugs into the USB port which allows it (and the headphones) to double as a hands-free kit.
