Smokin' In The Boys Room - Brownsville Station

...WARNING: DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM!!! I made the stupid mistake of purchasing this at an airport without listening to it beforehand. The album and the artist rely on one good tune 'Sugar Sugar', which unwittingly led me to think that perhaps the album would be a satisfying find. No such luck. I arrived at the hotel room, a sixteenth story boudoir, and put this in the CD player. I listened to the whole thing twice, hoping, for the sake of my £15, that maybe it would grow on me. I'll be perfectly honest. Me and my mate had a bit of fun lining up drained beer bottles and flicking them out of the window of our room. Boys will be boys. Dropping from the sixteenth floor, you can imagine the sound they made as they landed (safely, we checked) in the skip below. But none of the bottles that we smashed brought me such an overwhelming feeling... Read review

...The best of Motley Crue. I was never a big fan of Motley Crue but when I found this album lurking around the bargain bins I thought yeah why not. To my surprise it was actually very good! There are some great tracks on here which range across the first ten years of their career, starting with some tracks from earlier albums which are sort of punky, through a glam rock period in the ‘80s to their now harder although still poppy style. Particularly good tracks are: Looks That Kill : Has an excellent piece of dirty guitar playing Smokin’ In The Boys Room : The architypical teenage rebellion song, verses aren’t up to much but the chorus and guitar break is impressive Girls Girls Girls : Probably heard this a million times in movies whenever a strip club is visited, passed or even thought about Primal Scream - The new track on this album...
