Advantages: Best British soul diva. Ever Disadvantages: None
RubyTurner, Brummie soul diva. What? One of the best British soul singers of the past 30 years is a Brummie? Well, yes? SORT of. In truth, Ruby was born in Jamaica, but grew up in Birmingham from the age of nine.
The Very Best of RubyTurner is exactly that, the very best of one of the finest soul singers of her generation. She's also very pretty, but hey, let's try to keep my natural male bias for very beautiful women out of this review!
Whether Ruby is singing new soul songs, or delivering some of the great soul standard classics, her pure, soaring voice really is a cut above the rest. Ruby's ability to hold and deliver a tune is so impressive that she is able to attract soul stars such as Jimmy Ruffin, The Temptations and Jonathon Butler to perform with her as some very special guests. She was joined on What Becomes ...
I am concentrating this review however on the Ruby Jasmine fragrance. I had been using the Black Diamond and Lotus flower but I found the smell was a bit too overpowering for me so I decided to try another variety.

The Ruby Jasmine bottle has a lovely picture of what I assume to be a white jasmine flower on the front with a lovely big ruby next to it sparkling away! The bottle was a gorgeous ruby red colour and an almost jewel looking colour to it. The tag line of this softener says it is meant to be elegant and sophisticated. Well, going by the bottle, this was definitely true to start with ...
Advantages: A new Frank Turner album Disadvantages: Perhaps not as strong as previous ones
audiences with his full backing band. Songs from Love, Ire & Song slowly leaked onto the playlists of XFM, Absolute and even Radio One at times, and the first single off Poetry of the Deed; The Road, has received as much airplay as any of his previous singles, so the move is clearly working commercially.
Tracks such as Isabel and The Fastest Way Back Home highlight the layers to his music with pianos and extra guitars adding to him and his acoustic axe. The Road is clearly a single track with it?s anthemic chorus, as are the album?s title track and Live Fast Die Old. They may be slightly more distorted and electric to what some fans will be used to, but you know that when played live they could be great.
Other highlights on the album include Richard Divine; a story of a suicide attempt which Turner turns into a lyrical piece of art like he ...
