...The Jam have had the biggest influence on me out of anything in my record collection; and that includes the Beatles (who in my opinion were always a little bit hyped)! Comprising of Paul Weller (Vox, Lead Guitar) Bruce Foxton (Bass, Backing Vox) and Rick Buckler (Drums) the Jam are my favourite band of all time. In the late 70s and early 80s the three musical musketeers took the charts and hearts of the UK (and beyond) by storm. I have lived in Woking, where they come from (just outside SW London) and can relate to their, how shall I say, despair at the whole blandness of it all. It isn't hard to see why they wanted to escape so young. They just got better and better throughout their relatively short career and have left a deep, indelible footprint in my musical heart. Advantages: DMX's RUFF RYDERS ANTHEM / superb lyrics, amazing DARK production, gritty flow - BITES!
Disadvantages: DMX's lyrics can be X-plicit and frightening for young children - SO WATCH OUT, GRRR!

................ So far I have travelled through three HOT tracks of this album and now I approach THE STORM. In this track, two men stand in a cold, rainy weather (i.e. THE STORM) having a debate about how sincere DMX is. The first man describes DMX as being a WACK, bad man who robs black people (i.e. ni**as) and how every other citizens have a negative perception of DMX. The second guy criticises the first man for being a hypocrite, declaring that he shouldn't judge DMX as he (i.e. the first man) robs black victims himself. Rating: Not applicable 5. LOOK THRU MY EYES (3:50 min) As I now enter a DARK track, DMX abandons his hot, hardcore style to rap slowly about people making wrong comments about him. The main charcter is played by Nicolas Cage. After he kills the man he is sentenced to 7 years in prison for manslaughter, usually the charge would have been less than 3 years but becuse he is a military man he gets more years.
