Advantages: This is a live peformance Disadvantages: It's not a triple album
..., Eric lets
his band showcase as much as possible, but always comes back to his fine solos that are his
trademark and this is no different. The vocals on this track are outstanding ending with a tight
finish.
4. Have You Ever Loved A Woman - written by Billy Myles - The blues at it's very best Eric leads
into this track with some of the finest guitar playing that you will ever hear, and sings " Have you
ever loved a woman, somuch you tremble in pain, when all the time you know she bears another
mans name." all the time giving those solos with a great piano solo in the middle, followed by
keyboards, the audience cheering throughout and with the final verse and ending with a fiery
guitar solo, The biggest cheer of the night and a thank you from Eric. I've changed mymind I...

Road to Escondido Review ofRoad To Escondido, The - J.J. Cale & Eric Claptonby
hewholaughslast
Advantages: A collection of fine music.... Disadvantages: None...
...I grew up listening to Eric Clapton and JJ Cale as totally different singers and always wondered what they would sound like if they came together and made music combining the two styles and I was delighted to find this compact disc in my favourite music shop.
This long overdue result is champagne in the veins, absolutely mind-blowing music. It's a bluesy; slow burning and twangy album and old slow hand gets even slower. It is however Cale who dominates most of the album by writing 11 of the 14 tracks. This is a hybrid sound that I find unique but I can still hear the Cale and Clapton styles.
These songs are affectionate and powerful but they use very little vocabulary to articulate somuch. The pleasant-sounding connection between these two veterans of rock and the blues is flawless. Their subtle, rumbling voices and elegant guitar...

Advantages: A wide range of superb songs on 1 great CD, brilliant value for money Disadvantages:
...This is the latest release from the great musiscian Eric Clapton. I received this CD as a Christmas present and I can only thank the person who bought it for me. It has been in my CD player ever since I think. There are the timeless hits on the Cd such as Layla, Holy Mother, Wonderful Tonight, Its In The Way That You Use It and Running On Faith.
I can not comment on value for money because I am unaware how much it retails at, however, I would say that if at was less than £20, it is money well spent!
This is the best CD from Eric Clapton I have, although it is a shame he decided not to include Hound Daog on it.
I would reccomend anyone who has not sampled Eric Claptons music to buy this as it is compulsive and is a great idea for a gift (as I found out)....
