Soca Gold 2007 (+DVD) - Various Artists

Advantages: The word IBIZA in the title! Some really good tracks on here.

...This CD album is brilliant. By Ministry of sound, Ibiza Annual 2007 brings you three cd's of fresh, uplifting funky house from the last year. Cd1 gets off to a good start with Robyn's great track With Every Heartbeat. Big hits from Freeks, Booty Luv and Yves Larock follow and some more house tracks that are not as commercial which is a good thing, all in all a good 1st disc. CD2 begins with Armand's rework of Degrees of motion's Do You Want It Right Now? Which is above average, great tracks from Axwell Its True and Mark Ronson Stop me follow, again more underground tracks finish the mix and a good mix it is to. Finally cd3 is pretty solid Samin Heater is great check it out, was surprised to see Greece 2000 Three Drives here this remix sounds alomost the same as the original to me. I would definatley recommend this CD to every party... Read review

...I got this album for christmas and was unsure whether i would like it as i normally get clubland cds. I am very into my dance music and do buy alot of these cds. With the boxset you get 2 cd's and a DVD of Music videos which is original and i beleive you can only get this with the annual cd's. Unfortunatly it doesn't seem to have that many tracks on it for a big boxset and frankly most of them i haven't heard of but im up for new music!! It all depends on what type of music you like but it seems to me that they have crammed all the good tunes at the beggining of the cd which doent make me want to listen to the rest, im always skipping tracks!! But its very beaty good to dance i suppose good backround music but not party music. I have got previous annuals and it was the same i didn't most of the tracks but they where brought... Read review

Advantages: Great new styles, not afraid of trying new trance techniques, good lengthed songs
Disadvantages: Not many well known songs remixed, lyrics are always the chorus of the song repeated

...This album shows just how much Armin is capable of. A State of Trance 2007 features 28 long trance tracks, ranging from 2 minutes to 8 minutes (Most around 6) that flow into eachother. Armin has used various techniques that other trance music creators have not tried yet, such as bit-crunching, and has achieved the desired effect. I have really enjoyed this album, and have listened to it for 3 months now, without being bored of it. One of my favourite aspects of this album is the use of drums, he has used different samples to make his music provide the 'rushing' feeling to it's listener that most trance artists cannot achieve. This album is well worth it's price, as it has over 1 and a half hours of tracks inside, that you will not get bored of.
