Ian Brown, the man behind The Stone Roses is back with his 4th solo album, following on from his previous 3 Unfinished Monkey Business, Golden Greats and Music Of The Spheres.
The man himself doesn't disappoint starting off with Longsight M13, not a bad way at all to start the album, (It's about seeing the graffiti in Manchester saying "Free Ian Brown", i'm taking this was done when he was in the nick.)
The best 2 songs on the album in my opinion are "Time Is My Everything" and "Destiny or Circumstance". Don't get me wrong, every song on this album are class and a breath of fresh air in todays pop infested kids music "culture", but these 2 by far stand out.
You may have seen Mr Brown on some music channels along with a one Noel Gallagher who he wrote "Keep What Ya Got" with, this, is the flagship song for his album, I guess it's more light than any of the others to ween people who have never listened to "The Monkey Man" himself into this sort of music.
You'll hear a wide range of influences in this album, including an arabian (or so I think) inspired track, but saying that it was wrote by his guitarist (Aziz Ibrahim) and Ian.
Keep up the good work Ian and keep it consistant, we need people like you to keep the manchester vibe in music alive.
The track listing is. 1. Longsight M13 2. Time Is My Everything 3. Destiny Or Circumstance 4. Upside Down 5. Solarized 6. The Sweet Fantastic 7. Keep What Ya Got 8. Home Is Where The Heart Is 9. One Way Ticket To Paradise 10. Kiss Ya Lips (No I.D.) 11. Happy Ever After
