...The others are right, the guy certainly does have a certain amount of girl appeal. I suppose you either love or hate Ricky Martin and I've got to say I love him. Having said that that doesn't mean I love all of this album. Ricky's at his best doing the more upbeat numbers of which there are quite a few on this album, the trouble is most of them have been released as singles though it's good to have them all in one place. Half of the album could almost be a Ricky Martin best of, pretty impressive for one so young, the rest of the album is filled with a few dreary ballads, but it's worth the purchase for the handful of good tracks which are there, programme those in on your stereo and get dancing!...

Advantages: brilliant songs and sexy Disadvantages: none
...The Cup of Life was the official song of the France 98 tournament and was a great song as was Maria. However, what really catapulted Ricky Martin to fame was the brilliant Livin La Vida Loca. It went straight to number one and won many awards. It put Latin music on the map as well as Ricky himself. It was the dance song that had everyone on their feet. He followed this up with Shake Your Bon-Bon which didn't do quite so well despite being a great song. Private Emotion is his latest release from this album and is an extremely powerful ballad which is set to go straight to number one. It proves that the talented Ricky Martin can do many different types of music. The album ends with Spanish versions of a couple of his songs, a brilliant way to round of an even better album....

Advantages: Ricky Martin...very nice Disadvantages: Ricky Martin's voice....not very nice
...I have to admit, I bought this album because I fancied the pants off the lovely Ricky (let's face it he is nice to look at). I suppose he's the male equivalent of Britney Spears - to look at not to be listened to. There are some good tracks on this album, his duet with Madonna being the best. "Livin' La Vida Loca" obviously stands out too, but "Private Emotion" is also a lovely track, and "Spanish Eyes" is lovely in either language. There's just one problem with Ricky Martin....he can't sing. Harsh but true. There are some nice pics in the inlay though!...
