Solid Gold Collection, The - Richard Clayderman

Advantages: It's Bill Bailey and there are some classic tracks such as Insect Nation
Disadvantages: Doesn't last long, and many of the tracks are poor choices

...W Bush quotes such as "I believe good triumphs over evil", and to be honest it's a bit irritating. Unisex Chip Shop (Tribute to Billy Bragg) is an upbeat track on the guitar, but is followed by Richard Clayderman Plays Three Blind Mice, which is Bill playing playing Three Blind Mice in the style of Richard Clayderman (a French pianist). Medieval Porn is ok, quite random really (a bloke comes to repair the harpsichord), as is Dr Qui a jazzy number, and even with my rudimentary French I get the gist. In Classical Cockney Bill demonstrates how cockney music gets into Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata amongst other classical pieces….this is really funny on the DVD, but not great on CD. Advantages: A good mix of the Carpenters classic hits at a great price.
Disadvantages: Some of the hits can be a little 'samey', no lyrics included to sing-along to.

...The Carpenters Gold (1x) CD is a collection of Greatest Hits by the Brother and Sister who's music I think encompasses originality and incredible talent. For those who have heard of the Carpenters tunes or do not no anything about them, If you are into your love songs, meaningful lyrical content and catchy sounds then this may be worth a listen. This is a great CD with all the hits on that you love or may have heard before. This music falls in the category of Folk/Pop. Sometimes there are just those albums you just have to have in your collection-this is one of them, alongside The Beatles, Elvis and Stevie Wonder. I like my Pop music and my RnB, quite a mixture really and I'm open to lost of other music, I just find that sometimes going back and looking at older bands and different music gives you something that just doesn't happen... ...Steps Gold. Sounds vaguely familiar to Abba Gold. And to a lesser extent, Gold: the very best of Perry Como (R.I.P). For my first opinion in (does some quick arithmetic) 53 days (ok that took quite a while to work out!), I thought I'd write about my favourite members of Planet Pop. The all singing (well except Lee) all dancing, all glittery Kings and Queens of cheese. First, a little background: - Steps are: H (Ian Watkins), Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford Evans and Claire Richards. - Steps had their first hit way back in November 1997, the now cringeworthy homage to line dancing that was 5,6,7,8. Went down in history as the biggest selling single of the 90s to never make the top 10. - Heartbeat/Tragedy spent 8 weeks in the top 10 before reaching the number 1 spot, and went on to spend a colossal 15 weeks...
