Disadvantages: Rubbish mixing

...The tracks chosen are fantastic. If you wanted a definitive guide to hard trance and know nothing about the genre then this is a great place to start. The representation is great of the sounds of hard trance and full credit goes out on that point. Most of the good points in my mind are from the track selection to be honest. The mixing is rubbish to say the least. I wouldn't consider this to be a particularly "commercial" mix collection, and therefore I wouldn't necessarily expect it to be a rushed attempt to get a CD put together for money with no thought put into the mixing. How disappointed I was! I don't like to use the word "shoddy" but I feel compelled to on this occasion on the account that anyone with even an hour's mixing experience could do better. ...This is one of the first compilation CD's I ever bought. At the time I thought it was fantastic, but over the years I've seemed to have grown a little sick of some of the songs. If anyone remembers the days of Shaggy and Oh Carolina, well, you'll like this compilation as it's full of old songs like that, (and that song sure does bring abck quite a few memories!) Artists include: Reel 2 Reel, Haddaway, M People, Aswad, Sister Sledge, Shaggy, Robin S, 2 Unlimited, Capella, Prodigy, The Shamen, Snap, Seal, S'Express and Black Box.... As you can tell by some of the above names, most of them are the oldies! Brilliant to keep for 'old time sakes'.... Read review

...INTRODUCTION Im new to Hed Kandi so this is the first cd i have purchased from them and it wouldnt be the last. I really love dance music but many of the tracks i liked were on cd's mixed with common rubbish usually remix's of annoying ringtones, but this is pure quality. What i know is that Hed Kandi is a dance record label who arrange some of the best clubbing night's at all the top clubs in Britain including Pacha and Paridise, due to a slight age problem (16) i havent experienced Hed Kandi live just yet but no doubt i will soon enough. PERSONAL OPINION Disc 1 is called ' Disco Heaven Mix' the tracks are more vocal and quite relaxing to listen to. Most are not original but instead remix's from well knowns like 'Axwell' and 'Solid State Kandi Dub'. The opening track 'fade' by 'Solu music ' is mint and from there the music... Read review
