Again I am challenged to review a CD, this time by a self titled ex goth known as Scattyredhead. The CD in question was anything by The Sisters of Mercy. Popping off to www.allmusic.com to look the band up I noticed one of their albums was recommended so I decided that would be the one to download and review. Whoops, it was a nineteen track download – after one chunky download session this album better be worth it! Based an what Allmusic have to say about the band I’m fairly hopeful it will be; “the Sisters of Mercy play a slow, gloomy, ponderous hybrid of metal and psychedelia, often incorporating dance beats”. Sounds like it could well be me kind of thing, I just hope they don’t push the dance side too much.

“Who the flip is Alice”, no – don’t even think about it ...
The Sisters of Mercy are fronted by a very gaunt looking Andrew Eldritch.
We saw then in Las Vegas, House of Blues in 1999.
They were ok but something was missing.
I know what it was, it was the haunting voice of Miss Patricia Morrisson.
They lacked something , even though it brought back memories to my punkie gothic days.
I didn't have the gothic look more of the Billy idol look I always preferred blondes.
I still loved all the music though and all my friend were a mixture of goths and punks.
Because Iam now going on 40 I have totally changed with my appearance but the foot still taps when the Sisters come on.
The album GirlswanderbyMistake is an excellent album, it opens up with Alice

The Sisters Of Mercy formed in Leeds in 1980 and at the time consisted of Gary Marx and Andrew Eldritch, a guitar and an amp. Their first single was pressed and released by themselves, received one radio play and was described as being both "unobtainable and unlistenable”.
