'Some Hearts' is the multi-platinum, award winning debut album from the 4th series winner of American Idol, Carrie Underwood. The album comes under 'Rock and Pop' but I fell it is very 'Country' oriented with a 'Rocky' edge to it on some tracks. There are 13 tracks on the album, with 1 bonus track. Carrie hasn't written any of the tracks on this album, would like to see her writing skills go to work on the next one, be more personal.

I am a sucker for American Idol, and was pleased when Carrie won as she stood out with her modest attitude and beautiful voice, singing just about anything! Carrie has a great story too-A young woman who loves to sing, coming from a humble background growing up on her family's farm in America.

If you love music that incoporates thoughtful lyrics, acoustic guitar with a great voice, you will love this. In the past I have liked artists such as 'Shania Twain' and 'Jewell' and this album reminds of both, with the punchy lyrics, catchy tunes and soft voice at times.

Price: I bought the album in Virgin in Paris, the price in the UK works out about £10.

Product: The album cover is eye-catching, a close up of Carrie 'wondering in a field' how unique, she look great though. The inlay folds out to a small poster of carrie, no lyrics though! I hate it when the lyrics aren't include I like to read what is being sung. There are a few pictures in the inlay-a bit plane though, would like to see it look a bit more edgy, think the producers have gone for the 'Girl next door' look for carrie. Thinks she deserves more though.

Tracks:
1.Wasted: This catchy very 'Country Influenced' sound with twangs and all! is a good track. The lyrics are very inspiring and Carrie's voice sounds really strong on this one.
2. Don't forget to remember me: A 'pull at the old heart-strings' track, a ballad with soem lovely lyrics about family and leaving home, Carrie's voice is soft on this one.
3.Some Hearts: A nice track with Carrie showing off her great voice.
4.Jesus, take the wheel: A very memorable and moving track with abeautiful sound and inspiring lyrics.
5.The night before (life goes on): bit of a weak link, sothing sound though.
6.Lessons learned: thought provoking lyrics, a catchy melody.
7.Before he cheats: More of a rocky edge, catchy and cool.
8.Starts with goodbye: An easily forgotten track.
9.I just can't live a lie: An ok track, bit of another weak link.
10.We're young and beautiful: This one reminds me of a track by the Corr's, catchy and fun.
11.That's where it is: Another fun track, good lyrics, good guitar sound.
12.Whenever you remember: Another ballad, a bit of a weak link.
13.I ain't in Checotah anymore: A very 'Country' inspired tune, with twangs and all! a nice track.
Bonus track: Inside your heaven: A lovely track, great voice and great melody.

Overall: I like to just put on this album, and chill out in a hot bath. The tracks are both inspiring, relaxing and good to sing a long to. If you are into your 'Country' tunes-you will love this album, a fresh look at this genre of music with a few tracks reminiscent of the old country and western classics. If you like Rock and Pop, you may be a bit confused by some of the tracks, but like the more edgy, rocky sounds as the tracks outlined above. The value for money is a bit weak on this one, and the album cover inlay a bit plane too.It's an album with meaning and soul. I would like to see what Carrie's next album will be like, and if she starts to write her own song's a I think they will be great.
