Additional notes
Album Notes: A 30-year exile of disillusionment came to an end in the early noughties for folk icon Vashti Bunyan with the re-release of her 1970 debut record 'Just Another Diamond Day', bringing her admiration from a modern generation of folk musicians. On the back of this new-found popularity comes 'Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind', a compilation of early recordings that predates her folkier material. Indeed, many of the songs on this release are of a more compact and mainstream nature, simple love songs and ditties with minimal accompaniment. The first disc gathers together early single recordings (among them the Jagger/Richards-penned title track), while the second is the minimalist result of one hour's studio time in 1964, with only Bunyan's voice and guitar present.
Advantages: Well performed, enjoyable tracks Disadvantages: A little "samey"
.... "Individual", or "unique", or "different" I hear you all cry, but I wasn't keen on it and I didn't really pay them much attention!
However, it is difficult to ignore the success of a band that have been around for 14 years, and have released 6 albums that have sold millions of copies around the world, so, having bought my better half this album for Christmas, I decided to give it a good listen to, with a "clean slate", and form some genuine opinions on the music itself.
The Album
************
"High Times" is the 7th studio album to be released by Jamiroquai, and spotlights their greatest singles hits from 1992 to 2006. It was released on 6th November 2006, through Sony BMG/Columbia, and entered the UK album charts at number 1 (as had 3 of their 6 previous albums). Not being a fan of, or particularly familiar with, the progression...

Advantages: A few good tracks, A few lyrics with wisdom in Disadvantages: Alot of bad songs
...Mr Pharrell Williams has been in the music industry since '92 but didn't really break into the scene till 98' with the help of Ma$e. He met is business partner and long time buddy Chad, when they were both 12 in a music workshop.
Ever since they've been together they have produced some of the biggest Hip-Hop and R&B songs known to today. His album 'In My Mind', was released in 2006 and was his first album, from the album he was released three singles from it, which improved record sales and made his bank account a whole lot bigger.
:::::::::: Tracks :::::::::::
The album doesn't actually have an intro track, which I thought was kinda weird but nether-the-less the first track was:
1. +++Can I Have It Like That? Ft. Gwen Stefani+++
I don't know if I was the only one, but when this track was released from the album, I...

Advantages: Good compilation of The Smiths for someone wanting to get into the band, or someone with an interest in their music Disadvantages: Some of their best material weren't released as singles, and so aren't on this album. Not as good as 'Very Best of the Smiths'
...?
What/When/Where/Where?
The sixth single, released in February 1985, reached number 24 in the charts. It can be found as track six on their second studio album the brilliant and political ‘Meat is Murder’ and track 5 on ‘Hatful of Hollow’.
Best Lyric?
“You shut your mouth - how can you say - I go about things the wrong way ? - I am human and I need to be loved - just like everybody else does” / “There's a club, if you'd like to go - you could meet somebody who really loves you - so you go, and you stand on your own - and you leave on your own - and you go home, and you cry - and you want to die”
What’s it like?
‘How Soon is Now?’ is without doubt the most famous Smiths song, and along with ‘Girlfriend in a Coma’ the one most played on music channels and radio stations (although still not very often). Its sound is completely...
