I saw saw !!

Advantages: Some good effects
Disadvantages: Wife hid behind cushion for all of film ( is this a disadvantage?)

on the floor with the dead man, they both find out they are playing a "game" at the hand of the notorious JigSaw, a phsyco who has been striking for months, getting people into these situations and making them kill themselves in horrible ways. He isn't technically a murderer, as he just sets the scene for people to mkill themselves. The victims of the Jogsaw are always guilty of something - whether it's a drug dealer, drug taker, peadophile, rapist etc. Lawrence and Adam have until 6pm to free themselves, before they're locked in the room to die. With so many twists and turns, the film keeps you guessing right up until the very last minute, and even right up to the end credits there are twists and turns! WHAT DID I THINK I didn't find the film so mush scary but rather gruesome and very blood thristy in parts, I didn ...

I Saw Saw

Advantages: A novel idea, a few grusome scenes
Disadvantages: Poorly executed, resorts to cliches

Jigsaw has kidnapped one of his hostages wife and daughter putting pressure on him to escape and kill his fellow hostage. All the while two cops are on the trail of Jigsaw who has left other victims in his wake, each of them killed by their own hands when forced to participate in a sick trap. Saw starts off well; the atmosphere is incredibly creepy and very unnerving. However as the film progresses it becomes a muddled and generally annoying film. I say annoying because it?s premise could really have put the audience through the ringer however it soon resorts to cop clichés and general rip-offs of far better films as well as your usual serial killer traits. One of the biggest problems I had was the way in which the film built up some gruesome murder scenes but then destroyed them with flashbacks that are edited in a car-crash style ...

Sorry I sawed... ahem, watched it!

Advantages: Erm... it's very short! The fight scenes are fairly cool too.
Disadvantages: Utterly horrendous in just about every way!

Whilst monthly DVD rental packages undoubtedly bring much joy to many film fans, they are also ready and waiting to heap woe on the renter who adds titles to pad out their list, even though they've not heard of them, much less read any reviews on them! So it was that, last night, I went to a friend's house and watched the latest DVD he'd received - Sawed (also known as Devon's Ghost: Legend of the Bloody Boy). STORYLINE The plot is flimsy, to say the least, but the gist is that 10 years ago, in a small town in America, a 7 year old boy went missing.
