Over the years Iron Maiden have had a consistenly outstanding back catalogue of tracks and albums that have shown how raw and powerful this British metal band can be and with the release of this album it seems Iron Maiden have given their die hard fans something to get excited about!
The Somewhere Back In Time (The Best Of: 1980-1989) album is a compilation of all Iron Maiden's greatest triumphs! and proves that this band are one of the best at what they do.
Tracklist: 1. Intro - Churchill's Speech 2. Aces High (Live) 3. 2 Minutes To Midnight 4. The Trooper 5. Wasted Years 6. Children Of The Damned 7. The Number Of The Beast 8. Run To The Hills 9. Phantom Of The Opera (Live) 10. The Evil That Men Do 11. Wrathchild (Live) 12. Can I Play With Madness 13. Powerslave 14. Hallowed Be Thy Name 15. Iron Maiden (Live)
What I Like About This Album The Most And The Tracks I Think Are The Best: The detail i like most about this album is mainly the fact that it is a 15 track bundle of the best songs from each of Iron Maiden's previous albums which gives the listener the very best value. Also i love the fact that Eddie (Iron Maiden's comic book style mascot) is on every page of this albums inside booklet and is even printed on the actual CD, which gives the album another touch of Iron Maiden's own originality.
1. Intro - Churchill's Speech The reason i love this 49 second intro so much is basically because, in my opinion Winston Churchill was one of Britain's brilliant political figures and this intro gives fans and also people who are new to Iron Maiden a chance to hear Churchill's empowering speech just before the dawn of World War 2.
3. 2 Minutes To Midnight This track has such a catchy chorus and remains one of Iron Maiden's top tracks. With it's fast paced tempo and extraordinary guitar solos this track is a 6 minute gunshot of pure British metal!
4. The Trooper As a track dedicated to the art of war this song has such an awesome opening guitar riff and Bruce Dickinson brings the song immediatley to life with his increasingly astonishing vocal abilities! This track fills me with so much pure joy and shows exactly why Iron Maiden are legends!
8. Run To The Hills One of the best things about this track is the lyrics. They are ferocious! and even though the first few guitar riffs are easy to learn they still blow my mind! Also the drums really give this track a lovely rythm and add more effect to the lyrics.
Overall though, i suggest fans of Iron Maiden add this CD to their collection, because there is a reason why Britain is named Great Britain and this band is that reason!
