Review of Get A Grip [Remastered] - Aerosmith by psrose78

Advantages: crunching rock, emotive ballads
Disadvantages: not for everyone

...“Who are Aerosmith?” I hear you say. Hmmm, welcome back from that cave that you’ve been living in the past 30-odd years. Aerosmith are of course the legendary quintessential American rock band, award winning, multi-platinum, etc etc. “Ah yes I remember” I hear you say. Aerosmith released Get A Grip in April 1993. It was their twelfth studio album, and their fourth under the management of Geffen (after this album the band signed with Sony Columbia). Bruce Fairbairn was brought back for the production (making this his third consecutive album produced for Aerosmith) and work began on the follow up to the mighty Pump album (released in September 1989). Incredible guitarist!
Review of Surfing With The Alien [Remastered] - Joe Satriani by yhwman

Advantages: Incredible guitarist
Disadvantages: Short album

...Surfing With the Alien is an album of interesting and technically blinding songs. But then an album full of instrumentals has to be. The style varies from blues (The incredible Satch Boogie) to rock (Surfing With the Alien) to ambient (Always with me, always with you). This album will be of interest to any guitarist, if only for the ‘oooh’ factor. My one criticism (And it’s a popular one with me) is the length of the album, sure you get a lot of notes in the 37 minutes of the album but it’s still only 37 minutes. Personally I love it but if you pay to much for it you may feel ripped off.... Read review
