Advantages: wonderfull sets, great director Disadvantages: for younger viewers it is a bit long
this is arguably one of the best original musicals brought to film, the fact it wasnt a stage show before hand means it had no precomceptions of what it should be like, the glitz the glamour the songs were all there for what makes a very good film not just a good musical , the script was well written with a wonderful cast, the music is what makes this film great, the combination of modern songs all brought together using a very varied sounds behind it was a masterstroke, for instance the can can song when they first go to the moulinrouge ,with smells like teen spirit children of the revoulotion and many others in it made for a great movie, the dancing was wonderufll done, with it moving brillantly with the music ...
Advantages: Great story, amazing actors/actresses, worth watching Disadvantages: Beginning bit quite boring
This has to be the best film I have ever watched. It's one of my favourites.
I can't remember the first time I watched it, I think I was about 14 me and my dad were at his and he put it on ... I'm not normally into music ones where theres loads of singing and dancing but this was just amazing. Especially the scene in Satine's bedroom and also on the elephant those bits were just fantastic.
The film is contorversial and I would recommend your careful showing young children this film because of the sexy bits that appear in the film.
THE PLOT
MoulinRouge is set in Paris at the start of the 1900's, with Ewan McGregor on his type writer. The next bit is a bit of a blur, because when I watch it, I just skip to the bit where he sings for the first time.
Satine (Kidman) mistakes Christian (McGregor) for the Duke and tells him ...
Advantages: Modern songs, great costumes, great actors/actresses. Disadvantages: The plot wasn't that easy to follow.
This review of MoulinRouge was written as a project for my music class at school, which I must admit I am very proud of because I got an A and I haven?t achieved one of those in ages. It was fun writing the project as in class my friend Jenny who loves the film kept on coming up to me while I was writing and saying ?Aaah MoulinRouge!? every five minutes, which got a bit annoying. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing and getting a great grade for it!
