for TV, a listen to these '50s classics from a piano-playing Harvard grad student with a thin singing voice sounds tame, if not quaint. Yet Lehrer's first two self-produced albums, among the first generation of comedy LPs, remain beloved gems of musical parody, and noteworthy for their original success in an era when their topics were strictly taboo for broadcast media. He kids Cold War paranoia ("We Will All Go Together When We Go"), sends up then-hip folk revivalists with a cheerful murder ballad ("The Irish Ballad"), and gets laughs out of incest ("Oedipus Rex"), drugs ("The Old Dope Peddler"), and racism ("I Wanna Go Back to Dixie"). Closer to Gilbert & Sullivan (whom he in fact raids for one melody) than Def Comedy Jams, Lehrer can still raise a modern frisson when he plays necrophilia as romance ("I hold your hand in mine dear, I press it to my lips/ I take a healthy bite from your dainty fingertips..."). --Sam Sutherland

". . . for now each time I kiss it, I get bloodstains on my tie!"
What about the morality of the "Irish ballad" about the maid who didn't have her family long . . . because "not only did she do them wrong ~ she did every one of them in." TomLehrer then describes in depth, verse by verse, in very precise erudite english (whith an lrish accent) how, in a fit of pique, she drowned her father in the creek; fed her mother a Cyanide soup; set her sister's hair on fire (and danced around the funeral pyre playing a violin) . . . etcetera.

The TomTom one xl is in my opinion the best navigation aid in it,s price range. Further I would with no hesitation say. it gives systems out there that cost £3000 or more a run for their money. Having previously owned the TomTom go. which I found to be of great usefullness . This improved and updated device satisfactoraly adresses any slight niggles the TomTom gomay have had. I found the route calculation speed to be fast The device also has many extremely useful gadgets and applications. A particularly handy application is the inbuilt income generating cameras detection [pardon me I meant to say safety cameras]. the device is also capable of calculating a route around traffic congestion and accidents, particularly useful for those of us regularly using the M25. ...

The TomTom brand of satellite navigation is probably the most popular satellite navigation system around. This is not to say it is the best one, merely the most popular.
