Put together six stand up comedians. Hold them all together by a relatively competent host who also is a pretty accomplished comedian. Get them to discuss the current affairs of the week, and you?ve got yourself Mock The Week.
Shown on BBC Two, and religiously on Dave (would you expect anything else?!), it?s hosted by Dara Ó Briain ? an irish comedian who has done several appearances on several other comedy panel shows such as Have I Got News For You and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Regular panelists include Hugh Dennis, Andy Parsons, Russell Howard and Frankie Boyle?or that was until last week when Boyle declared he wished to leave the show to ?persue? other ideas. Dare I suggest his own comedy programme? I think so.
They sieve through various topics of the week in a variety of ways ? one round is ?If this is the answer, what is ...

Advantages: An easy to read summary of the week's main news stories Disadvantages: Not for those who like their news in detail
A copy of The Week landed on my doorstep this morning, it wasn't addressed to anyone, just had an extra cover saying "Claim a further 6 FREE issues". Well before I go clogging up my doormat I thought I'd better have a good read of it to see what it was all about for myself (having only recently read another review here at Ciao about the same publication). It's endorsed by Ben Elton, "The Week is a brilliant idea. Superbly executed." I'm sorry but that doesn't mean anything to me. If you don't think much of Mr Elton, an endorsement by him isn't going to help sell this publication.
The tagline below the The Week reads "All you need to know about everything that matters." The publication itself seems to be made of rather cheap quality paper, the pages are so thin that they're almost see through. It loses points there for me already. If ...

Advantages: great way to keep abreast with news topics Disadvantages: none
The Week-magazine a great magazine
This is a 'weekly magazine' and it covers news events which occurred in the week.It is presented in a way that the layout is appealing and easy to read.
The magazine is a wonderful way of keeping up to date with the news and other popular topics such as Arts,Science,Health Issues.
It has thirtyfive pages in total and it is packed from cover to cover with every news item and current affairs that anyone would wish .
A wonderful magazine to keep up a breast with what is happening in the world and so much easier to read than a newspaper. This is ideal for anyone who has a busy life style and it short of time.
The layout of the magazine I like and colourful and the other best thing is that it gets posted through the door but I am sure that you may be able arrange for delivery through ...

Album Notes
British singer-songwriter Caroline Weeks, best known for her multi-instrumentalist role in the U.K. alt-folk group Bats For Lashes, makes her solo debut with a stark, haunting selection of spare musical settings of the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Millay's confessional poetry sounds surprisingly contemporary in these settings, even when the settings are of such familiar poems as "What Lips My Lips Have Kissed."
