Soul Of Money Records Vol.2, The - Various Artists

Advantages: Very inexpensive album set.
Disadvantages: You may already have some of the many tracks.

...This compilation consists of a ten, yes TEN CD boxed set, each CD having 20 tracks all original recordings. At a total cost of £19.95 in most high street record stores that works out at only £2.00 per CD which is pretty good value by my reconning. I actually bought it as I set a lot of quizzes and thought it would be good for music round setting which of couse it is but it actually good to play at parties etc, many of my friends remarking on the good quality and the variety of songs. There is a good range of artistes on the CDs from both sides of the Atlantic. there are many "classic" songs as well as some that you may have forgotten but are pleased to hear again after many years. ...Brill album, much better than the first Radio one live lounge album. All tracks have been previously played on the radio one live lounge with Joe Willie, but I never get a chance to listen to them all first time they are on the radio, so its nice to hear them all. Some tracks really funny and are all by well-known artist's. The artists and bands either record alternative recordings of there own songs or ones by other artists, which is really interesting. I really love the Amy winehouse - Valerie its a slower version and is really good. It features allot of the top 40 bands and gives you a chance of hearing unusual tracks that you would not normally hear from such band albums. Highly Recommended.... Read review

Advantages: great mix of diffrent artists
Disadvantages: dosent include some of the new artists around today

...from track 1 you will love this album including performances from biggie. all the artists on this album have performed in the lyrisist lounge which i believe to be in new york. alot of tracks on this seem less commercial and more underground which in my opinion is a good thing because it brings you something fresh and original. this album is produced by the record label rawcus records over all it is well worh the buy and i guarantee you will never get bored of this. the cover and inlay also offer some very fresh graphics and pics and give a detailed description of the artists producers and the lyrisist lounge itself ive had this album for 4 years now and still listen to it regularly....
