Advantages: Lyrically brilliant, and excellent music Disadvantages: It is hard to keep up such a high standard for the whole album
...to start with, but once it gets going, it is a great song which will have you tapping your feet on the rocky bits, and then feeling pretty chilled out for the rest of the song.
“Pink On White Walls” is an upbeat toetapper. It is lighthearted, and is all about being happy with your lot. “Don’t waste your time, don’t hesitate” is Weller telling us to savour every moment, and when you are least expecting it, great things will come along to surprise you. “Whirpool’s End” struggles to meet the standards seen previously from the other tracks, and on any other artists album would be a stand out track, but here it sounds like a very average rock song.
“Wings Of Speed” introduces us to the vocals of the talented CarleenAnderson, which were heard a little on “Out Of The Sinking”. It is a lovely ballad, and Weller proves he can belt out rock songs...

Advantages: An album that doesnt dissapoint Disadvantages: A long time to wait for another album
...Taking chances was released in Novemeber 2007,and Ive got to say Im a massive Celine Dion fan and so couldnt wait to get my hands on this cd,and sure enough it didnt disappoint. The album provided you with a wide variety fo songs and vocals (as is usual from Dion)
From the track taking chances which is a beautiful yet typically poppy yet soulful sounding to the passionate and effortlessley seemless track Skies of LA, this album doesnt disappoint, for both new and old Celine Dion fans.
My personal favourite track on this album was eyes on me, I liked this track as I felt it was edgy and just that little bit different for Dion,it had more of an oriental/middle eastern sound and style, and I feel this really complimented Celine Dions wide ranging vocals/distinctive voice.
This is definately and album I would recommend you go out an buy...

...(1990)**
This is fab! A stuttered James Brown sampled intro full of grunts and burps leads into a wicked smooth bassline and great shuffled beat. The singer's vocals are spot on and the whole vibe is just so lazy and summery. On the strength of this track, I bought their album and it was the horriblest mixture of rock and soul you could imagine. True one hit wonders if ever there were any.
**Young Disciples: Apparently Nothin' (1991)**
Femi was the musician and DJ and latter-day Kiss FM host, but it was Kelly Holmes lookalike CarleenAnderson who supplied the classy touch. Her unique vocal style flitted between wails and whispers and after this track she went solo with mixed success. She later teamed up with Guru on his successful series of mid-90's albums. This track is embarrassingly funky and groovy and is a must for any record...
